A lot of the zoomer bands are totally influenced by this stuff. It's funny because I remember back then nu-metal would get dunked on by music snobs and other metalheads (I was a teenage metalhead and we constantly mocked this sort of stuff - but we also all secretly still listened to it and enjoyed it). But regardless I think some of this feeling and vibe is returning, in music anyways. You could say this is adjacent to Deftones couldn't you? Deftones has had a big impact on the modern zoomer rock scene I'd say. You guys heard of Narrow Head? Or Fleshwater? Point is there's sick heavy music coming out that's very influenced by this era.

These guys came to eat at a restaurant I managed before a show almost 20 years ago. I went to ask them for autographs and the bassist invited me and 10 friends to the show. The concert was amazing. We got to hang out after the show and do Jager shots with them. My friend was a huge fan and they gave her drum sticks, sweat towels, picks and even the set list that was taped to the stage. Classy guys and amazing musicians. I'll never forget that show.
