I haven't even fully heard all of it, and I am enjoying it already! It sounds freeing, and soothing.

I really like the nuance of this song! As another commenter, @ReoGojira pointed out, this song is one that seems inspired by the success you found with writing songs for specific fandoms. In particular, they interpret it as giving up the potential in those songs for a closer knit and kinder community. I can definitely see that in this song, and understand how one can interpret it in that manner. However, when I first heard this song, I initially thought that giving up the “gold”, whatever it’s meant to represent, would be a bad thing. This stemmed from me believing that the “gold” wasn’t a representation of possible wealth or fame from writing songs for specific communities, but that the “gold” represented ideals you held dear. This was in part backed by the drawing with the music, as I imagined the golden locket to be the “gold” you were drowning for. Given that lockets tend to be representative of memories, I figured that the “gold” was ideals you held dear, while you were drowning in the differing opinions of others. Given the ending of the song, I feel that it is obvious that the “gold” is something that you didn’t truly hold dear, with the specific line “I don’t want to drown for gold”. I imagine that whatever the gold is, you had viewed it as valuable at the time, but realized with the help of others that it wasn’t worth the harm you were putting yourself through. Be it music or something else in your life that we on the internet aren’t aware of (and likely should never be aware of), I hope you’re able to move on from whatever was drowning you, and find something just as if not more valuable in the future. Overall, a very beautiful song, and I hope you continue to write more, even if we internet folk never get to hear them!

Wow, yeah, I actually really like this, the effect on your voice works well with the theme and the moral of the sing is sweet, lettering go of things of material value to be with those who love you. Great work Evi, adding this to my playlist for when I’m drawing

Yippee! I’ve been waiting for another original song!!! I love the imagery in this song. The long droning sounds remind me heavily of how sound travels underwater. While I do not know the intended meaning of this song, I find the idea of “drowning for gold” to be a chilling way of saying “dying to greed”. Greed is the folly of humanity. Why take when you could give? Are we not all human and thus deserving of each others aid? I haven’t commented in a while (life is life), but I would like to say thank you again for all of your work. I’ve been listening to a lot of your older songs and I still cannot understand how people can be so talented. I love the Internet. Have a good day! :D

At first I liked this song and understood its meaning, and I though it didn't apply to me. As I re-listen to this, I understand what my gold is -or was, and every lyric of this song makes sense to me. It's really beautiful, and now I can even apply it to my own life! Anyway, love your song, and hope that you keep going on your journey to go back above the waters, no matter how many times it'll take you to stop coming back to the water. Love ya! ♥

THIS IS REALLY COOL!!! It truly highlights what the feeling of grasping for what you think is the only thing left, when it actually hurts you and isn't worth sinking with it. That desperation, the grief and loss of letting go what you thought you treasured most, it's really melancholic and still freeing in that sense. GREAT SONG ONCE AGAIN ❤❤❤

WE FINALLY GOT AN ANOTHER ORIGINAL SONG! been a while And this sounds like a masterpiece, now, forgive me if I'm wrong (I'm normally so braindead in terms of details), but is the song suggesting (going by the end of the song) that you don't want to find such a big clout (unlike all the prideful and trashy pranksters I've seen) cuz you'll lose yourself in the process and by then you won't like the content you make that gave you all the popularity, you just want to make the content you like and take what you have that being a small and loving community?

a lot of it is based around many different things, but the main message I wanted to portray was letting go of harmful mindsets that can hinder yourself and your growth as an individual!

I feel like the audio for this is too distorted for this sound that it’s hard to hear.

this is amazing! the vocals almost sound like they're in an underwater cavern, and are echoing off the walls :0 ~throws into the 'Russian roulette' playlist~ (I have a cacophony of songs i like and i throw them all in the same playlist. one friend called it "emotional whiplash")
