DROPPING A BRAND-NEW YAMAHA TENERE 700 - A buddy's product crash test in the Oregon backcountry!

Спорт

My buddy Joe joined us for a day of exploration and route finding on the east half of Route 6 of the Oregon Backcountry Discover Route (OBDR) system. He just got this bike, a 2022 Yamaha Ténéré, and he's pretty new to being off-road. He got a little jacked up trying to go through this washed out tank-trap and dumped the bike. We were pleasantly surprised that there was zero physical damage to the bike. The Dirtracks side racks, and the Yamaha crash bars, skid plate, and hand guards, all did their job and kept the expensive bits off the ground. We lifted the bike up and he was able to ride it out of the bottom of the obstacle. About 100 yards down the road though we came upon a fully washed out portion of the road that had no bypass so we had to turn around and go back through the same obstacle. Joe made it through just fine on the way back!
