Boston anthem. Seeing them perform this live at the Boston One benefit show was amazing. “I lost my leg” with bombing survivors in the front row, many who lost legs. Powerful.

Saw them live in Freiburg (Germany) a couple of years ago. Open air and three amazing local bands as openers (bought the albums of two of them right then and there). They played for almost six hours until the Dropkick Murphys came out. It was so frigging awesome. They played absolutely great, got some people on the stage to dance and just went all out. Hard. Best concert I've ever been to.

One more thing, I'd like to make a suggestion. Depeche Mode-while I love all of their music, I have to recommend Stripped, Never let me down again and the one that introduced me to them Enjoy the silence. They aren't an Irish band, they are an English one. Just thought I'd throw that out there

In this case, you’re right. But the original Latin pronunciation is with an “s” sound, which is why the Boston Celtics and Glasgow Celtic F.C. use the “seltic” pronunciation

The lyrics were written by legendary American folk singer Woody Guthrie (This Land Is Your Land). Guthrie's widow (or daughter. I can't remember) allowed the band access to his song archives and they came across some lyrics written on a page with no accompanying music. DKMurphys came up with the melody and arrangement on their own. Ollie mentioned that Notre Dame Fighting Irish use the song.... Dripkick Murphys also recorded a banger ass version of the Notre Dame fight song called "Victory". kzread.info/dash/bejne/lqyK1LGnlqywm9Y.html

I'm not from Boston and I've never even visited. But this video is how I picture low-level organized crime in Boston. New York organized crime seems super sophisticated, at least in my mind. Whereas Boston seems more down and dirty. No concern for image and style. Just gritty brawlers doing a dirty job without the glamor. Kind of like hard-core Boston sports fans🤣

Day 29 still patiently waiting for them to react to (arguably) the greatest rock band of all time. Other than "another brick in the wall", which was one of their worse songs. At this point I am beggining to believe they are doing it on purpose for some reason, but they reacted to all sorts of crap in the mean time. I really can't understand this. Again: - Echoes part 1 and 2 live at pompei (yes it is long, but one of the best live performances ever) - Us and them (studio version for sure) -On the turning away (live at delicate sounds of thunder) -Comfortably numb (live at pulse festival, as it is one of the best live guitar solos in recorded history of music) -Shine on you crazy diamond (100%studio version becouse the saxophone an trumpet sound the best in this version) Doesn't matter which one you choose, it may change your whole perspective on music as an art form.

You’re selling Sammy short. They were just as popular if not more. Still a debate, Dave or Sammy. Original VH is awesome, no doubt. Dave was a great front man but not really good singer. Just listen to him without machines to enhance his voice. Sammy on other hand can sing his ass off. Listen for yourself and you shall see.
