My conversation with Brian was a really good one. He lives in N.Ireland and his ancestors originally came from Scotland, several generations ago. There's a lot of conversation about what an Irishman or a Scotsman or a Welshman is, do you have to be born there? can you just declare yourself one for those of us who's ancestors left their homelands to come to America? Some native borns say no, I'm Scottish and have not run into this but some folks say: not born there, not one.

What about those Irish that moved to Glasgow during the Potato famine? Isn't Gibson a Scottish last name? Going back in fife to 1335. I'm just trying to get a line on this.

Probably sacrilege to say this, but Al Barr sings "Do or Die" much better here than Mike McColgan does on the studio album. If you like McColgan, not trying to take that away from you, but he sings in a bizarre vocal inflection on "Do or Die" that makes it hard sometimes to make out the words, while in this video, Al's vocals are clearer and I can understand the words better.
