drop zero training shoes for power lifting - Impressions on the TYR DZ 1

In this video I share my experiences with a new entry into the shoe market for power lifting and general training. TYR now offers their own drop zero training shoe and I share my impressions having used them and how they work for their intended affect on ground contact.

Good review. I also found the lateral side of the lowest strap sometimes dug into my foot if doing stuff like lunges, hoping they fix it with the laced version. That being said, $160 is a no go to me when there are more affordable options that do as well if not better.

Thanks big Brandon! I haven’t experienced that with the strap myself, but you’re right about the price! There really is no rationale except for the fact that TYR is a big long standing company (entering this specific market) with lots of overhead!

I'm due for a lifting shoe like this. I just dug my Reebok crossfit nano 5's back out because they have the thinnest and most flat sole out of all my lifting shoes. But they're pretty beat up. Looking forward to your next review!

Thanks Carter. I find it funny how old sneakers feel when you put them on...not often like we remember them feeling.

I do love the look of these. My only critique is I find the strap design slightly awkward, but I’m still quite happy with the with the purchase.

LOL. I do sometimes try to fasten the strap to the wrong spot sometimes - I forgot about that.

Barefoot shoes are also good for re-establishing proper walking gait. Our bodies were not meant to walk with the foot at a slight downward angle. The rest of the body has to compensate to keep the body vertical, so it is typically through the hips. All of my shoes and boots are zero drop with an adequate toe box.

Right on the money Mark. It leads to lots of issues down the road.

Hey, thanks for the review! I am considering on getting one but yeah, price is off the charts 😅 Another concern is, are they washable/easy to wash? I really love the white/gold but I think they tend to get dirty easy.

They are pricey but easy to wash in machine and come out like new!

Comprehensive mate! Must have some solid prompts on the content. If not that’s even more impressive. I have some Vivo barefoots which I love. Have the TYR lifters and they are awesome. I would like to say I won’t buy the drop zeros but y lie to myself. They look nice and will replace my Vivos when they give up I think.. if Australia stocks them..
