Headrush is KILLING it!! Thanks for the sneak peak, Doc!

I've been requesting this for over a year with headrush. So glad to see that in the update. Only have the headrush and heil talk box to set up. I was using the Morpheus droptune pedal.

I think it functions and sounds great. Go check out the Chord Wham video when you get a chance. All the new videos are in a playlist for easy access.

HeadrusH is killing it!

I like this take on the drop tune. When the HR boys did their quick video about the firmware, I was not that impressed with it. I see a lot of applications for my live rig. I play in a lot of open tunings as we cover the Stones, Black Crowes, and Allman's. Thanks for your contributions! Keep up the good work.

I know the answer to this, but I just want to make sure. Will it work with Open Tunings, like Open G or Open E tuning? Thank you.

I discovered this today on mine after updating the firmware. what would be cool if you could be in Estandard and do drop D or Drop C and so on now that would be very cool

Just updated mine and it completely erased ll y previous settings! Make sure you back it up first!

Sounds really good, with no real artifacts that you get from a lot of other drop options

Its not something I use a lot but it works well.

What is it listed under in the list?

I haven’t used the drop tune yet, but I’m probably gonna start today. I have the pedalboard and the MX five. If it works for me awesome. One thing I would wish they would add to their system is the thing that Boss introduced in the GT six. Where you can use the dynamics thing to play clean chorusing, and when you hit the strings hard, it goes to heavy distortion. That’s the only thing I miss about the boss. I had the GT pro before, but for some reason I got rid of it. I like the pedal format better.

Hey Doc. I would be guessing but is 1 Down 1/2 step tuning taking E to Eb? If so, this would eliminate the need for carrying around my EHX PitchFork for tuning 1/2 step down for about 6 songs in my bands current set lists. If you could give it a whirl, that'd be awesome. But with any luck tomorrow evening I will be installing the update myself. Thanks. -Seth

1 Semi Tone is a half step in the Chromatic scale. 2 Semi Tones equals a whole step and so on.

@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios thank you for checking I just installed it myself. And it does exactly what the pitchfork does.

I've got some weird crackling sounds when I use it clean or with bass guitar. My input and output settings aren't clipping and I have it first in the chain. Usually sounds fine with distortion any suggestions? I want to be able to use with clean sounds and it's unbearable.

Not really sure. I don't hear such sounds.

Hi. Is it possible to step up the tuning? I usually tune my strings to a whole step down (DGCFAD) and am wondering if I can tune up to say standard tuning with the headrush unit. I like the feel of one whole step down on the strings and would rather not tune up physically. Thanks.

The Drop Tune only goes down. The Pitch Delay can go up in pitch but it may not sound very natural.

I've been experimenting with this recently but it seems everytime I activate the drop tune it seems I get what seems like an electronic "click" when I pick or strum. I can't hear that in your video. Anyone else notice this issue?

I found this feature laggy on my hedrush, the more.I dropped it the more laggy and un natural sounding. May not be as noticeable with let's say chords. I play metal lots of fast riffs and alternate picking, the lag makes it un usuable.

I was hoping to replace my Digitech Drop with this. I use the Drop pedal for acoustic shows to add bass lines by dropping my guitar down an octave. Looks like the new Drop tune effect doesn’t go a whole octave down. Unless I’m missing something...?

It goes down 13 semi tones. 12 semi tones is 1 octave.

That’s where I’m at a loss Doc. It actually only goes down 8 semitones(at least as far as I can see). I lowered it to the 8th Drop and recorded a loop. Then, turned it off on the HeadRush and engaged the octave setting on my digitech Drop pedal. The lowest (8th) from HeadRush is definitely not an octave down. Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere or am I completely off? Thanks!

Robert Workman there are 13 semi tones available. There are 12 semi tones in an octave.1-8 are numbers used in the Nashville number system where 8 would an octave higher than the 1 but that is not the case here.

Robert Workman there should be 13 up and 13 down. I am references the Headrush and not the Drop pedal you have.

I run my Headrush through the effects send/return of my amp. Can I still use the Drop Tune feature that way? Or does it need to run as part of a signal chain into the front of the amp? 🙂

You will need to use it into the input of your amp. I suggest using the 4 cable method.

Does it have a feature to detune a single string or is it just all Six?

Doc I have had issues with the drop tune effect since it’s release...upgraded to latest version but still having same issue: sounds blended! I can’t seem to get a solid drop tune sound without hearing my original tuning mixed in...I’ve messed with all settings and signal chain placement to no avail...ugh! What am I doing wrong!?! I noticed this yesterday for the first time when I was using it with my amp without headphones. Turns out what I was hearing was my amp plus the raw sound of the strings ringing since I was sitting and making adjustments. I put my headphones on and it immediately disappeared. Not sure if this is what you are hearing but thought I would mention it.

yes all 3 units are exactly the same under the hood. The only difference is the physical size and number of switches.

Maybe you aren't playing loudly enough. I have a Digitech Drop and when playing quietly, you are hearing the down-tuned strings along with the natural ringing of the standard-tuned strings. This might be the disharmonic overtones you are hearing. Try cranking your Headrush and see if that does the trick!

You didnt demonstrate the mix function. Set it at 50% or so to blend both sounds. Instant harmony. Or assign the foot pedal to control the mix.

Most people will be using it to transpose their instrument. There are many things you can do with this effect. I prefer the Chord Wham for harmonizing.

Is there a droptune pedal in the headrush mx5 too?

Yes they are exactly the same as far as number of amps, cabs, mics and fx.

Down 8 half steps which is like going from C down to an E below.
