Is this the closest you’ve ever played to a Acoustic kit?
As far as over all sound its very pleasing to work with. I am using the kit at church and the feedback is very positive from the band and congregation. I highly recommend it. I will do more videos from the drum booth at church going over the setup.
hello, I want to ask? The aux on an Allen Heath mixer uses a mono or stereo connection
i would like to kow if volume is ok to play at home.. i have a fender hot rod deluxe and its very loud so Do you think this is a good option for me?
You can turn the volume down very low and still get a great sound.
Hello, thanks for the video! Is it possible to get multitrack recording from Alesis Strata Prime kit via USB or maybe it saves multiple wav files on internal disk?
there is not USB recording with multi track or internal from what I have seen so far. I will do more testing.
Hopefully you can still reply. What if I only have a guitar and cable but no amp?
do you have an audio interface?
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Yes
YOu can use that to get a signal from the guitar.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Okay thank you
Some people will throw their money away on anything. Ridiculous.
it actually works pretty good.
I really wish you would have started from the very beginning... i'm still trying to create a vocal chain on top of guitar and can't seem to get it.
I will add it to the list of video topics
Is there AUX IN 1/8" port on the BT side of the panel marked PHONE? If so, can it be used simultanesly with BT or not? Thanks for review.
There is a 1/8th" Aux in and a 1/4" phones out. I don't see why they couldn't be used at the same time.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. I would like to understand why when I save my preset on the FM3, the name of my preset does not appear on the FM3 editor of my computer. It still says "empty" but not on the FM3 screen. Is there anything else I can do to completely save all the preset information? Is there a special way to save a preset other than STORE and ENTER twice. Thanks
Hmmm It should be updating in FM3 Edit as well. Maybe reach out to Fractal and let me know what issue you are having. Store Enter Enter is the only method I use to save a preset on the Fractal.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudiosThanks, I'll try to find the problem.
Can't find this June-24-Download ...
Its not loaded yet. I plan to do that tonight. What would you like to see for July?
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Thank you. BIG-TWIN-TONE in March is great. After a bit of pimping, I was able to use it wonderfully for the Alan Parsons Project (Sirius - Eye In The Sky). Perhaps something in the direction of blues and soul (Motown, Stax, maybe Steve Cropper) would be a good idea for July.
I never thought about turning the bass down dramatically but it achieves the exact sound I’ve been searching for all along ! thanks for that!❤
The more gain you have the less bass you need.
the reverb needs improvements compared to other modeler but the amps sounds great
Honestly I prefer the reverbs to any other unit ive tried minus the Kemper. The Cloud reverb on the TMP is just perfect and sounds great with a short and long decay.
You have an excellent channel
Thanks for watching
You do an excellent job with this pedal
Thanks
I start with a single amp or clone and tweak to taste, then add drive or delay etc one at a time tweaking as I do. Gives a better sound to me.
Headrush does provide an awesome platform for creating tones.
I'm having a problem that notes keep ringing after the MIDI item already ended. It's like the release in the VSTi just keeps going forever
Did you try my suggestion in the video?
I've had the MX5 for awhile use it as a studio tool, your videos are always interesting and I learn new things about this box every time. I tend to stick EQ between the amp and cab.
Glad to help!
I was REALL surprised how much I liked the Code25 after playing one for the first time recently. It was the only inexpensive modeler that FEELS like a real amp. Took a ton of tweaking but I think the brightness adds to the realness. Some models don't sound great or are over compressed, but I have plans on getting one of these as a cheap plug-and-play amp for older metal and blues tones.
It has vey usable tones for sure
The Fender logo on anything makes it win and sound better automatically, right? And with its $1799.00 pricetag with the Fender logo on it automatically means it a bargain too, right? Plus when you're seen using it Your audience then knows you're automatically an accmplished pro virtuoso player, right?
Nothing is automatic as to your line of thinking. The value is left to the consumer to decide. It’s a good blend between the QC and Fractal AX8 as far as form factor and overall features . All units sound amazing these days. Even less expensive units.
Hi doc,is the input going to the mixing desk or the out put?
Output always goes to mixer or audio interface.
What is axis?
Off axis means the mic is 45 degrees off the speaker.
Love the Tonemaster Pro, it's just so easy to use and sounds awesome
It really is!
Add input 1 and output 1 first, nav back to input 1, then hold enter to create shunts.
A question, Doc! One the scale of 1 to 10, how much would you rate the sounds in HR Prime, 10 being the fractal stuff?
In my opinion, i wouldn't focus too much on the tones, kemper, fender tmp, Quad cortex, headrush, axe fx, Helix, you can literally all make them sound great, I've played and or owned most of them. So my takeaway from modelers is to just go with the modeler that has the amps you're interested in and most importantly, the one that you like regarding UI and Comfort. Also, most likely you will never use 90% of the stuff that's on the unit, so just go with what your budget allows and what you'd like to fiddle with every day 😊
they are all a 10 in my book. Each one has different features so go with the one that works best for you.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios thank you..
If you go down to the woods today, you'll hear a guy with an amp. I'm looking for an upgrade to my Boss street cube which needs batteries so am looking for built in battery.
Man, very nice… would be possible provide a table woth the fractions and their respective figure… Comgrats
The fractions are the basic of music. 1 bar is a whole note, 1/2 is a half note, 1/4 is a quarternote, 3/16 is a dotted eight, 1/8 is an eighth note, 1/16 is a sixteenth note etc. Same fractions when reading a measuring tape.
A video idea for you, make a rig to run two different guitars at the same time in a cover band setting. We’ve been thinking about buying one of these but we don’t know if it’ll be able to handle both my and our singers guitar with simple clean, rock rhythm, rock lead settings for each of us.
Yes that is very possible as the Core and Prime can have a different lane of fx for each input. Some people do this with a Quad Cortex.
I have expression pedal without toe switch is headrush have auto engage/disengage for wah/whammy ?
It does not unfortunately.
Catching the replay! 👍
All good
Hey man! I recently picked this kit up after 12 years away from drumming, first time with an electric kit, am loving but finding info on actually recording the drums confusing. I have a MacBook Pro and an iPad Pro but the ideal would be for me to record into my iPad Pro (I have it mounted to the frame) so that I can add the track into a timeline with my camera footage and backing track to post drum covers. Is this possible? If so do you know what kit/software I need? I’ve seen you can record internally with the module which I have done but I can’t seem to find anyway to get the recordings off the module. I’ve plugged in a flash drive and it does show up but doesn’t seem to have an option to add the recordings to the drive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
whats the app?
Marshall Gateway
Hi Doc, I have the original Headrush Pedalboard, do the amps still stand up against those in the newer Headrush models, the Prime and Core? and do you think they hold their own against other top modellers?
I am only using stock amps in this rig and not the new Revalver amps. The tones sound great to me. I would say the tones are the same on both units. The new units have bluetooth and other features that the older units don't have.
Thank you, always something new coming out! But surely if it sounded good once it must still sound good! 😂 Still chasing tones from 50-60 yes ago!
This rig among many others makes it clear that Headrush can provide an excellent tone for recording and live use.
I implore you not to buy these HeadRush products . While they do work good for a while, their customer service is among the worst in the world.
Sorry you had a bad experience Marc. Not sure what your issue was.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I have the headrush, pedalboard. The power on off button is supposed to latch when you turn it on. Mind stopped latching and I have not been able to get the part from head rush.
Awesome
Does anyone know if you can change songs via midi in the setlist? It only seems to be able to change presets,
Like take a song totally out of the setlist? That should be possible.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I want to remote control song changes in the setlist as already do this with an older guitar setup, I presumed it would but it says nothing in the manual, just midi control of patch changes.
what are you wanting to use to make these changes? I must have read your question wrong the first time :). I just checked the manual and though it doesn't mention song changes you can change the preset within a song. The only problem is see is if you used the same preset in multiple songs then how would the TMP know which song you want to access that preset in.
big big big big big like! amazing vid doc! love your enthusiasm!
That was a fun livestream with some really good tones.
Great video! I forgot how to do this, and I actually learned something new. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
To much talk but little action ,
Its a livestream. Check my other videos on the Headrush Core.
The HR Core is an audio interface as well, hence why a walk through with this option would be helpful.
Will the HTS Rigs work on the Headrush Pedalboard? Thanks enjoying the videos.
Yes I have recreated the rigs for both new and old units.
I don t have the speaker on the left to import irs?
You can import an IR into any unit. Which one do you have?
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios I bought the one you have super duper wave ir… but on my fender control app on my computer there is no cabinet image on the left under set list to import irs
Have you updated your device recently? That option should be available.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios i had a problem with disk image……now it s ok and there is the import irs ,thanks
A couple of suggestions to try with the Katana... 1) If you set up a Katana patch where the only thing after the effects return is an EQ (or EQs), and then run the MFX unit into the effects return instead of the power amp in, you can tweak the sound of the Katana to match the sound of the IR or just adjust it for the environment you're playing int. 2) Try going into the front of the Katana, but using one of the Acoustic amps, which are closer to FRFR.
Good suggestions. The Acoustic channel is neutral enough for sure.
Nice video. Do any of the drives pedals give you the Marshall In A Box sound for going into the front end of a clean amp?
Yeah there are plenty of options. The OCD is actually really good for that.
