Drop Leaf Side Table

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I build a drop leaf side table out of quartersawn Sapele. The table features four-sided taper legs, brass tapered cup casters, rule joints for the drop leaves with concealed hinges, and a telescoping support arm with brass insert knobs/pulls.

Well done Huy. This build has great examples of the fine craftsmanship you are known for. This build has a sentimental value for me. My Father built a serving cart very similar to this table. The top had fold down sides. Once you were done mixing the drinks, you folded the sides up and lifted the top/serving tray, and carried the drinks to your guests. This was the last build he did before he passed at 77 years.

I remember you mentioning this to me as I was building it this past winter. Thank you for sharing the memories. The concept and design that your father used sound much more intricate than my design. I would have loved to have met him.
