    I enjoyed the crap out of that. Not just as a drone pilot, but as it made me imagine the days of when men were working on the decks. Nice job.

    @@NicholasLittlejohn most of the bottom paint would be copper based. The white top side on the other hand would have been white lead... But honestly, little compared to the historical load of other toxins.

    The description says "Take a tour over the Arthur Kill Ship Graveyard in Staten Island, NY. (Courtesy of Jersey Drone)" so I Googled "Arthur Kill Ship Graveyard" and it came up with a business name of "Staten Island Boat Graveyard." and a phone number. Apparently it's a scrap yard for boats much like a junkyard for cars. There is also a Wikipedia page with more info on the scrapyard.

    jim poesl the company responsible is slowly reducing the number of ships. But some are banned from being moved do to all the chemicals sitting in one spot (the ship itself) and moving it at one time can release all the chemicals in the bottom and pollute the river even more than it just sitting there

    Why doesn't the Coast Guard or the US Army Corps Of Engineers tow these abandoned derelict vessels away?

    If it isn't already this should be a superfund site and every last one of those wrecks should be cleaned up and scrapped. Absolutely despicable that it has been allowed to get this bad.

  • @billconserva1461
    @billconserva14614 жыл бұрын

    Why do theses ships owners get to abandoned them, instead of paying to scrap them out? So waters get polluted with and make an eyesore and eventually Tax Payers will foot the bill!
