I have friends from Aransas Pass. They're worried about how the town is going to recover. Apparently almost everyone there lost their home, or had it damaged in some major way.

Here is the Deal, Doesn't matter who I am but I have the Qualifications. Houston and surrounding areas should be considered a 85% Total Loss. That is on Housing, Auto, Heavy, Equipment and Personal lines coverage. You have well over one million displaced people and Ground Transport is almost to a stop. Emergency problems are being handled on a case by case basis. I would recommend the people in shelters who most likely will be there a month since all services are mostly down and a Trillion Dollars is going to be close to the greater loss amount in the Storm Area. Fort Hood should set up relief Red Cross Stations there on the Post since bringing the people to a safe place is better than leaving them to starve and being in the elements. Air Dropping supplies to the people in Temporary Shelters is a necessity. Each Family should register with FEMA for help. I know what I saw and there is not enough workers to help the Masses of displaced people. Sending 12000 National Guardsman is only a drop in the Bucket. The news is not telling everything. From Cleveland TX to the Coast has problems. You are looking at months of trash pick up and new underground wiring repair. Blown Sewers and water lines make the entire Metropolitan area Not Reasonably able to sustain a safe haven for the displaced. Most Likely over 60% do not have National Flood Insurance. All the Jobs are gone I would say about 79% based on regional survey. Get Fort Hood to set up Shelters and Tents and clean water and good sewer. Houston you have a Problem. Your complete infrastructure has failed. Get the Buses and get em out. Feed these poor people give them clothes. Be Humane not like Katrina and that mess. This makes Katrina look like a walk in the park. This includes all the damaged areas. Dont act like Ray Nagen who I helped bust everyone get on the same page and get those people completely out of Houston. Adjusters who are money hungry will swarm Houston and surrounding areas like Flies beware. There are good and bad everywhere. I have a lot to say but I doubt everyone will listen to common sense. All those in charge some are really power hungry. They are going to need a minimum of a thousand acres for flooded cars with at least a million claims to start with. I don't think I will be far off when the bills are paid. Notice to Insurance companies who do business in the affected areas. Your Average Loss Ratio on each policy will be 78%. Aren't I lucky. I sold my house just 2 months ago in Aransas.....feel sorry for the young kid that bought his first house to have it flood.

Yeah you are. Hopefully he had flood insurance. That is the risk of living on the gulf.

Christopher Meyer So glad you are alive and safely out of there now. The high taxed properties from Pompano St area will never sell well now. Clean up takes a long time. More hurricanes to come. Economic racketeering dominates.
