I learnt a lot while recording this episode in terms of how to record in ways that is better engaging to the viewers with less 'Umms' & 'Ahhs' and I will try to implement these methods in my upcoming Vid's/Posts
I Currently have 600+ Hours of in-game Space Engineers play, weather if I'm building and testing my designs or actually playing a survival game, in saying that I play when I can, around work (Chef) and my 2 y/o Son. :)
I have HUGE plans for the future of this channel but I am still learning how to Edit Videos and Audio but I'm a fast learner and I'm picking it up well...

    HI. I like your series. You've inspired me to come up with some new ideas for drones. I've already tested a lot with the new AI blocks and have similar problems. For me, 4 ai recorder blocks (dock A, undock A, dock B and undock B) work best. Maybe it sounds strange but with more downward thrust my drones work much better. You could also mess around with p-gravity on the AI ​​flight block during the landing process.

    Have done all of the above and more... have found the new AI blocks dont like using the Collision Avoidance AT ALL and Precision Mode should be ON at all times ✌️ I have also used the same method of 4 timers just with different names to yours (Trigger, Load, RTB, Unload)

    you should try combining the ai flight move and waypoints together ai flight move = for traveing throuh the inside the cave waypoins = for traveling from base to miner and back

    The AI flight move is just a block for speed settings, precision mode and collision avoidance among others. The AI basic block uses GPS's, similar to the remote block. The AI recorder Block uses waypoints... I did show in this episode the difference overall but have since fixed only recently and im excited to get things up and running in time for the next episode 😎🤓✌️

    You need to overcome your anger and try recorder one more time. XD There is a bug with grav-alignment on ai recorder. It need to be completely off when recorder running. I was struggling with this myself on rocket landing to launchpad. After disabling alignment and ca everything worked smooth like butter. Collision avoidance should be off all the time. It's simply unusable in 99,9% cases. Precision mode - until last moment before docking obviously. AI blocks just wasn't properly developed and tested for gravity and obstacles. Traversing space with asteroids in the way also didn't work at all. Do not expect Keens to fix AI this year :)

    Thanks for the comment and for the tips... have found the issues you've described already since testing it further today... also I don't need to "overcome my anger" as it was simple frustration I was showing to the audience to help understand what I was going through and thought it would add the touch it needed to get the point across 😇👌✌️😂

    I know it doesn't fix the vertical movement issue, but why do it? Have them come it 10m above and then descend.

    I'm just saying the flying up 100+ meters then flying to an approach point and then down 100 meters is a bit of a waste, tiem and fuel wise. I see why you want to do it, but that was the point of the drone highway already being high, altitude wise. Since p2p is fine, just have them leave the tunnel and fly straight to say 10m above the remote connector and then on return it flies straight to a point level with the drone tunnel. I just think the vertical changes in elevation are causing issues. Add: Because it happens regardless of your nav set up its probably a vertical movement without thrust in another direction thing.

    The vertical change height is there since I have been having issues with the collision Avoidance but as seen in EP 12 (at the end) it doesn't matter as I have tried your method with the same results... 😥

    Great work Sharpy, the base you are building is bloody impressive on it's own, doing it with AI machines and drones is outstanding (makes me jealous of your abilities). That hitch with the return flights must be so frustrating but you seem to be controlling yourself with super hero calm, hopefully keen will catch up to where you have gotten to soon. So many tunnels, shafts and an elevator all at once, mind blowing, truly. Thanks for all the fun.

    All I can say is... once again, just wait till you see the next Episode 13... Currently doing a timelapse of the Space Elevator Tower and over the last couple days, i have added a new entrance tunnel (between both other tunnels) and added Auto Open/Close of said tunnel doors for easy acess with drones etc. All my earlier plans are finally coming to fruition 👌😎😎😎

    I will definitely need help from someone to help Design the base and make it look better than its bland state currently (weather they join me in game and show me a thing or 2 and i can show them a thing or 2 myself?)

    So am I... With the pathfinding it was just due to the Collision Avoidance needing to be Off, and the Precision Mode must be On for the Drones to work as intended ✌️😇

    The best autopilot I've seen in SE is PAM's auto miner script pilot. It's not perfect, but kicks the vanillas butt 😅

    Thanks heaps but still trying to keep it as 'Vanilla' as possible and I have just worked out the bug with the AI recorder block... just need to make sure Precision Mode is always ON and Collision Avoidance is always OFF... means placing waypoints around mountains and obstacles etc. but wors a charm, now i just need to give it heaps of H2 tanks for longer runs... end up having around 30% by the time it gets back to my HUB... thinking an atmosphere Drone of the same design might be worth while? Battery charge lasts much longer but are less powerful...? Thoughts

    Its going to be a BIG episode 13 as ive now got the drones working as i want them... now to just upgrade the base and put doors, sensors and maybe another tunnel between both entry and exit to allow for 1 Entrance to the HUB and 2 Exits... Should work better so they dont cross over each other during multiple drone flight paths etc. or at least minimise it as much as possible 🤓

    Yes have noticed and I have had to change the way I was planning to lay out the Drone HUB... But I think it will be more effective and better looking mwhahahahahaha

    Yeah it will just need to be guided around obstacles with a couple more waypoints with the Recorder blocks but they are still better at traveling from 1 point to another compared to the GPS's using the AI Basic or Remote Blocks 🤔
