Absolutely horrible, praying for everyone that lives in Spencer and all the other towns in Iowa that are affected by this terrible flooding.😢🙏❤️

We live a just little north of Spencer and in the last 60 days, we measured 65 inches of rain. There was another 13 inches of rain that fell in a 24 hour period and then the next morning Spencer was flooded. 😢

I'd like to see a map that shows the areas in the U.S. that have suffered devastating floods over the last 4 years. One of populated areas, one of unpopulated areas and one of both.

That part of the little Sioux floods often. Heavier than normal rains caused the water level to raise less than 10 feet higher than the previous record if I remember right.

Spencer sure didn't see this coming... it is so surreal. Some of us still are without electricity and/or water... some have lost everything. EVERYTHING! It's remarkable though to see the overwhelming amount of spencer citizens who have dropped what they were doing immediately and still are to help each other out. Keep praying for us all... we got a long way to go.. but we will make it throigh!

@@charlesbrown4483 It's not possible to understand if you look at it logically. You're using religion as a mechanism to help you get over your existential dread. You can't handle the possibility of there not being an afterlife, or a meaning to every little thing that happens in your life. Life is more meaningful when you aren't beholden to a religion and it's dogma. I'm not going to let a book dictate my life and tell me that this life means nothing compared to some afterlife that absolutely IS NOT confirmed. You have a belief that it is confirmed but I would like some actual hard evidence like any sane person would.

Who would worship such a cruel god 😅 Just look at all recorded history and you will know all religions have been a negative to society.

I had no idea this even happened - how is that possible? That looks devastating :( It was difficult to tell how much looks like that, but it seems the entire city of Spencer. May God bless and carry them through this. Pray up.

I think mother nature is very unhappy with us

We live in okoboji and only had about a foot of water in our basement. We are praying for everyone in Spencer

Looks yhe same as Louisiana did after Katrina. We need to make the rescue and aid effort there in Iowa aa we did in Louisiana. Not to mention paradise after the fires, too. I don't begrudge anyone else the help they got. Im just saying that its Iowa's turn

Iowa has had plenty of "turns" when it comes to natural disasters and they are diligent when it comes to helping the residents that are affected.

Its about 8 inches deep. Just look at the gas pumps.

I’m sure it has nothing to do with those streaks we see in the sky 😉

How much is this going to cost, assuming FEMA has to pay for it?

Nope. No climate change here. Just the daily weather.

I sold my place in Iowa 10 years ago. I don’t know why anybody would want to live there. The whole place is depressing. Now it’s even worse, I guess.

@@francespelletier175 Other than the BAD weather and lots of snakes, there are other reasons too. Some places give you energy and some places drain your energy. I’ve lived in dozens of places around the US and Iowa drains energy like no place else. The stereotypes are generally true. The air smells bad, food is unhealthy, no culture or entertainment to speak of, but worst of all are the people, unfortunately. Pleasant on the surface but insular, critical, parochial and petty. Everyone I met who was interesting, funny, genuine or warm couldn’t wait to leave. A male from out of town (like California or some other desirable place) is very popular because maybe a woman can find a husband and get to leave. Many of the children are also homeschooled there. Which I think affects their social skills. A very sad and unpleasant state.

@@rustynail2065 you probably wouldn't like it in Florida either, cause we also have bad weather, snakes and other kind of critters! Won't even bother mentioning the types of folks we have here! I've moved from Florida twice but have had to move back here for different reasons. I've lived here on and off since I was 5 and have never liked it. I'd like to move away from here again, maybe further north where it's not so miserable hot and humid but can't afford to at the moment.
