During Robby and Thomas's trip to Moab, Utah, we visited Dead Horse Point State Park and then Canyonlands National Park. The journey continues in this video.
For starters we passed Arches National Park, but decided against going in because the line was too long and apparently you need reservations. So we went to Moab and then ate at the Moab Food Truck Park. Then we continued west towards Nevada. As we drove we came up to the San Rafael Reef, an incredible geographic landmark with rocks jutting up and I-70 cuts through it. We saw Black Dragon Overlook and then Ghost Rock.
As we continued driving we drove through Capitol Reef National Park (although we didn't see any of it). Finally, we arrived at the southwest corner of Utah and had dinner at Black Bear Diner before going to sleep.
The voiceover is by Danny Schembre.

The accent work by Robby at the end was really great.

Was it really him? He sounded very different and has never nailed a British accent like that before,..

The voiceover was done by my cousin Danny. He’ll be in an episode soon actually.
Central Ohio boy here. My dad grew up on the west side of the San Rafael. Been out there 10-12 times and it is still my favorite place in the US. The drive up through the Swell through Buckhorn Draw is one of the best in the world.
I love black bear diner. Not only is there food absolutely delicious, Reasonably price compared to everybody else, And the portions are huge. Definitely a win
FYI Black Bear Diners have become my go to stop on my West Coast travels. I pick overnight stops based on their proximity to these consistently awesome places to eat.
really look forward to more series like this. love seeing just raw footage of your travel instead of just the final destination.
These mini episodes are a lot of fun and rewatchable
Incredible! I live in a rainforest, so seeing dry landscapes like San Rafael is so alien.
Danny Schembre putting in the WORK. Also laughed SO loud at each tiny flashback scene. Loving this series!!
Green River, Utah native here. Omg I wanted to facepalm the whole time 😄🤣😂😆😄🤣 Black Dragon canyon is named for a petroglyph in the canyon that looks like a dragon. Ghost rock was on the eastbound side of the freeway. Its called that because when it's foggy it pokes out of the clouds like it's floating. Arches is a timed entry reservation which can get on their website. I suggest going during fall, winter or early spring for less tourists. Memorial Day is chaos. ALSO you weren't in Capital Reef NP. There is a back way into getting into the park and what you saw was the exit for it.

Yeah, I was shaking my head when they thought they were in Capitol Reef NP. lol. They have no clue. What a missed opportunity that was that they bypassed it. I went to Arches in late September a few years back and the line stretched nearly as long as in this video. It was disgusting. Whenever I went as a kid in the 90's there were no ridiculous lines like that, even in summer. Even Dead Horse Point was overrun. So many tour buses.
Very nice. You did, however, miss an opportunity for an amazing detour. Route 24 (off 70) takes you through the San Rafael desert and right through Capitol Reef National Park (highly worth seeing). Then take Route 12 which is regarded as one of the most scenic drives in the country. You end up eventually where you ended up here.

The San Rafael Swell is a great place. It was great to watch the video and seeing places I had been. Utah has outstanding scenery.
I agree with everyone else. I love your full length hiking videos but these shorter videos of the road trip have been fun and make us feel like we're on the journey with you. Thanks for the laughs!
Super trip so far! You are spoiling us with all recent Adventure Archives escapades back to back. Love it 😊 ❤️😎
Can you just imagine the looks on the faces of the people trying to go west when they came upon that kind of topography!
and the music is perfect!!!!
I sooo appreciate the attention to punctuation, or, shall I say, the lack thereof. It most certainly should have read, “Here for you, Tommy”. 😂😀👍🏼
Arches is awesome. There are def some sites where you can walk to, in, and around. Arches made me change my mind about Utah. Can’t wait to go back
LOL with the accents 😂
8:47 Oh what does that say Interneters? " Be sure to have plenty of water, gasoline, food and a RELIABLE MAP"! That means PAPER MAP!
Better than any nonsense you’ll see on tv.
I didn't even know u guys had that sweet dog until later in the video! What a sweet good dog!!!!
Loved the narration with the accents
I drive this section of I-70 frequently and love it! The red rocks are beautiful.
Best intro ever!!!!!!
You are correct about the Arches National Park.
Oh my God! Right off the bat this is good. That intro was just brilliant fun! Kudos on that creative splash. You rule
thanks guys
Arches is really worth going to. I went in 2014 and stayed a couple of days. One of my favorite trips.
Totally loved seeing this part of the world! Thank you.💞
I was wondering who was doing the voices. Robby, had no idea you could do all those! Great teaser episode!
I'm surprised you hadn't heard of Capitol Reef, even though it's definitely the least known NP in UT. And then you didn't spend any time there? That's too bad; it's really gorgeous. You mentioned trees… they actually have a historic orchard there! And a lot of the rock formations there are amazing. I love the ending, with the different accents. Definitely keep doing that; it's fun!
Wow! You were so close to Peek A Boo and Spooky Gulch! Worth traveling back for it. Also Ding and Dang Canyon Hike.
After Robby took a sip of the coffee he says, 世も末 which is translated as "the world is beyond saving" I don't have the slightest idea why he said it but he did
Really liked the voice at the intro. Randy/GA
Hey, M'dudes. You guys do a great job producing great music to go to the video.

I am repeating it, but I'm really in love in your funk background here. It's a nice change up. I know you guys have your thing, and that is cool, but this one is a little change up for fun.
Previously on Adventure Archives was gold!
love the music and the vibe of this video!
I’m really enjoying these videos you goofballs are sharing. 🤪 You need to go back to Canyonlands sometime and drive the White Rim trail below Island in the Sky. You’re barely scratching the surface.
I worked out in Parashant National Monument last summer. My car unfortunately broke down outside of Green River 😢. My boss came to rescue me from St. George, UT, and when we drove through this it finally clicked -- I'm here.
Just sayin' you guys missed out on the best parts of Capitol Reef NP and the Arches NP flyby was a big no-no. Literally those three Parks form part of the Mighty Five - five national parks within close proximity to one another in Southern Utah. You need to make it back there to do Arches, Capitol Reef and Bryce Canyon NP (esp. the backcountry hikes at all of these places). For everyone else : Don't sleep on these lesser known parks - they are beauteous and enchanting! On a par with most of the other places the AA team has visited...

They're better than most of the places they've visited. No offense to those places, but there's a reason Utah is ranked as one of the most beautiful states, and always draws tourists from all over the world. They're not lesser known parks. They were lesser known decades ago. But now they're TOO well known and absolutely swamped with people. You never used to need a reservation for Arches, and Moab used to be a sleepy little town no one had heard of.
you should go back and spend some extended time at capitol reef
Probably mentioned here, but to get into Arches, you need a timed entry pass up until 5:00 pm.
The San Rafael Reef is an ancient sea reef, with, as you learned, magnificent scenery and a wonderful drive. It is correct that no road traversed this area until Interstate 70 was built.
Awesome trip. Beautiful scenery! Thanks
Great video keep them coming!
You really need to spend more time in Utah! Check out Capital Reef (stay in Torrey at Rim Rock Inn and eat at the restaurant). If you come through St. George again, eat at Bishop’s or Bear Paw instead (locally owned). We have beautiful trails around St George. My husband and I just moved here from SLC (amazing mountains around there too). Go to Zions! We’re enjoying binge watching your videos, you’re hilarious. Will Patreon ya soon (gotta get working again 😉).
awesome
Really enjoyed the video, as usual! Thanks!!!
Wowzer this made my Wednesday evening …Thanks Guys
Always fun to go along on one of your Adventures. Thanks !
If you are not scared of the cold do Arches in the winter, we did it and was super empty. We also took our dog, they are allowed only in the street, parking lots and 30 feet from the pavement
Such incredible views and colors. Loving these road trip videos.
Amazing scenery great video fellas
What a good dog! Alone in the back, not moving, silent…
Отличная работа Робби 😎💪
Love the music 🎶 makes the videos super fun to watch keep them coming!
And by the way that includes the music with the horns and that groovy 70s rolling down the highway vibe that the horns create! Very nice
Very nice, loving it 👍🙂
Good to see my more of my home state make it onto the channel. Y’all should try to make it out to the high uintah wilderness.
Robby, yeh the Geology of the Earth can really put things into perspective. Humans have only been on this Earth for such a short time, Ay. I think they filmed the origonal movie Planet of the Apes in Utah desert. You crack me up with your different Accents. I heard a British, and Irish in there. Hihi. - New Subscriber, old British Gal now living in America.
Hi from western Colorado. I believe that Sierra really enjoyed the Rocky Mountain hike the BEST.
Love your videos
This is like a road trip series for you two. Very scenic one.
LOL "...entertainment food"!! Great tour, guys. 👍😎🇨🇦
Entertaining as always, appreciate your smooooth style.. ;)
Beautiful drive! Great accents!
The San Rafael Swell is an awesome place to rockhound!
Great video! You should do voiceovers 😉
Nice content 😊
I really enjoy your videos, they’re well made and very entertaining. Have you ever considered a section backpacking adventure on the Florida Trail? Specifically the southern most part
this countdown clock is cool
Great
I used to go to black bear diner on my BD for years but about 4-5 years ago, it just went straight downhill. I tried it again a couple of years ago, but had the same results so that was about it. Hopefully you guys went to capitol reef national park(beautiful) and if you have time Bryce Canyon is just nearby too. I wondered if you stayed in Cedar City, a great college town.

Ditto on Cedar City - a great College town with some wonderful dining options!
That destiny reference 😂
Arches has a timed entry system, you need a permit which allows you to enter within a 1 hour window unless you show up before 5 or 6am or after 5pm. I ended up filming 3 videos in there but it was a pain with the timed entry permit system.
Enjoyable vid today. Well, they all have been actually.
Capital Reef is one of the forgotten National Parks...such an alien landscape. As someone else mentioned, you need to g to Bryce Canyon, which is where I believe they hatch the aliens...
Literally just drove through there like a month ago didn’t even know that was a destination haha 😂
Also gas in Tahoe is finally under $7 a gallon again. It was above taht for a while.
That big dons pizza is the best in town
You should have that narrator back! 😂
Capitol Reef is one of my favorite national parks. Keep it on the down low, we don't want it to turn into arches! shhhh
Accents at the end took me out🤣
damn, i went to arches in november last year. There was almost no one there, and i went in the back way and there was no line at all on that road.
That intro, though. George Peterson? Is that you? Principal Rooney is shaking in his boots right now…George wants his daughter out in front of the school in ten minutes, by herself!
Looks like you went back in time!!!! @0:43 THAT should be the title for this video. How did you only put in less than a second of footage of it????????
How did you get Carl Sagan to narate the intro?!?
Better Call Robb
That Subaru must have a fair few miles on it now? 😄
Wahoo
❤❤❤❤
Hey Robby do you think you could go to cero Gordo in Cali to meet ghost town living his name is Bret ?
San Rafael Reef. Does it mean that it has been under water at one point?

Where on earth was the dog during the diner? Not left in the car, right..?
