Thoughts on FSD but first, check out my favorite Tesla accessory below - Teslogic app measures battery health, horsepower, and provides a heads up display! Check it out here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eZ2TqbmDotixhrA.html FSD thoughts 1. Drives exceptionally better than Basic Autopilot. Lane assist and braking when approaching stopped vehicles is smoother and more lifelike. 2. FSD observes objects spanning a wide distance a human driver can’t monitor. For instance, on a left turn a human looks left, right, then left again. A Tesla will monitor all of this and objects across the street, behind the car, etc. FSD spots objects I can not. 3. Errors on FSD can be reported to Tesla. For example, if 99 out of 100 Teslas make a turn with no problem, but one Tesla does not, Tesla’s system can use A.I. to review footage and make adjustments to navigation. After a disengagement, a message will appear asking “Why did a disengagement occur?” and you are given the option to send a recording to Tesla to review and thus fix issues. Issues mentioned in this video may already be addressed by Tesla and in the works to be fixed. At no time did any object come too close to the car nor did I ever feel unsafe. Cars around me never once had to steer away from my Tesla either. 4. This version of FSD is 2024.3.15 5. Overall, FSD is worth $99/mo. to try FSD. Since everyone is in a different situation financially, I can not comment on whether or not I feel the one time $8,000 cost is worth buying outright. It would take 6 years and 7 months paying $99/mo. to equal the $8,000 one-time cost. Generally, I think the free-trial of FSD supervised is not only convenient, but safer than human driving so as long as the driver is full attentive and ready to intervene per the instructions of FSD.

Here's a bit of truth as I'm really tired of KZreadrs expounding the virtues of FSD. I currently have two Teslas w/FSD trial (truck on order too) and have had two other long-term "loners" (X & M3) with it as well. I have NEVER had FSD take me anywhere that didn't require immediate intervention to either prevent it from wrecking us, getting confused and wandering around through several lanes, not seeing speed bumps, people or items in the road and taking incorrect routings such as through a hospital ambulance emergency lane area. Without the smallest amount of exaggeration, on a single trip ... within 60 seconds we were almost killed three times. It pulled DIRECTLY in front of a car at a stop sign without braking/turning and if I hadn't had the acceleration boost and "floored it", we'd be dead by "T-boning." Phantom braking is a real and persistent problem. Not seeing that the lane you're in is ending and you need to move over. Changing lanes on it's own in to be in front of an 18-wheeler with less than ten feet of clearance. Going through intersections is butt-tightening as the car wanders around since there are no lane markers, driving frequently into other lanes and will ignore other cars without warning, so a tight grip on the wheel is not optional. And attempting to make a turn under the same circumstances will have the car driving all over the place, starting to turn into on-coming lanes that are sitting at a red light and braking/stopping in the MIDDLE of the intersection with cars behind you having to hit their brakes. I have discussed this in length with Tesla service and they have NEVER been able to fix it. In total and unadulterated honesty, even if FSD was completely free, I'd never use it. While I'm truly a "dyed-in-the-wool" Tesla/Musk fan, I have to admit there are failures within the company (fit/finish/paint, charging for the built-in garage opener, no included charger, no decent surround view for parking, etc.) but the most egregious, is FSD. Owning what is probably (IMHO) the best car ever made, to have such a dangerous/useless item is shocking. The FSD is an utter failure and focusing time/effort/money on such a lost cause does nothing to counter all the money I've lost with Tesla stock or make the car palatable to a prospective buyer that's afraid as a result of all the press about how bad full self driving is. At this point, the best thing Tesla and Musk can do is stop any further wasted research of FSD, and focus on their core products without this utterly failed distraction. I wouldn't stake the lives of my family on FSD ...

You have videos of those disengagements? While your examples are believable one must also remember it's the internet and I don't know you and vise versa. We really need to see video evidence FSD is as dangerous as you say and what were the road conditions? Clearly marked lines? What version did all these disengagements happed? What was the speed set to? Did you at any time apply manually acceleration or on all trips did you like FSD drive? I find it hard to believe every trip had disengagements. If you watch Wholes Mars Catalog's channel there are hundreds and hundreds of miles on FSD with 0 disengagements. Also, were some of your disengagements repeated disengagements or all first time unique disengagements? Do you send the video data to Tesla everytime you disengage so these areas can be notated? Note: There has never been a case against Tesla's FSD or autopilot where a loss of life was found guilty towards Tesla.

your cars back in the shop eh? i hope you share what for, but i take it something to do with the accident you had previously? ah yes, i see you also got the car cutting in front of someone, i took over when my car tried to do that, and would not let the car cut in front of someone like you did, which of course turned it off, i didn't have the mental capacity to sent a report to tesla about it, and i dont get prompted afterwards to give a report, which i would do, just show me the video captured and ask me to give a report at that time and i would. while im driving, i must keep my attention there, i cant split my focus and give a report and maintain going forward at the same time. i did try the FSD out a few times, the visualization is only the good one while on FSD. if i change it back to adaptive cruse only, then it goes back to the old visualization. my experience is that the highway stack is still the old handwritten stack, and it still performs as it always has, from my understanding the new code is only in city driving. as such i had the car still phantom brakes (it always does it in the same spot on my drive, the car never learns) i usually expect it every time now it has tried to cut off other drivers, i basically hold the wheel and prevent it from moving over, which cancels fsd and drops the speed maintain, meaning i have to take over completely, it wont even maintain the speed, really annoying. on certain parts of my daily trip, part of the road the painted lane markings are missing, due to being worn completely down to nothing, and the car thinks like it's one big road just for it, and fails to maintain it's lane, every time, i have to force it to keep to the lane, once again disconnecting it. in it's current form and it not being able to adapt, always making the same mistakes in the same locations, i consider it not ready for robotaxi service. and i dont need to pay to have it give me an adrenaline rush. so no sub from me.
