Join us on the thrilling conclusion of our epic 5000km overlanding adventure across Canada as we venture to the remote community of Telegraph Creek in Northern BC. In this gripping episode, we set up camp in the forest near Dease Lake, British Columbia, sleeping in our off-road tear-drop trailer.
The Next day, our route takes us along the treacherous Telegraph Creek road, a mountainous path that hugs the grand canyon of the Stikine River. Brace yourself for heart-stopping moments as we navigate 20% gradients, winde around tight corners, and skirt sheer cliffs, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
Upon reaching the historic community of Telegraph Creek, our adventure takes an exciting turn as we prepare to embark on a 10-day canoe expedition down the lower Stikine River into Alaska. Experience the warmth of community as we meet up with friends who own a stunning homestead near Telegraph Creek. Get a glimpse into their life, including goat raising and a thriving homestead farming operation before we take the final steps to begin our paddling adventure.

Just started watching but I have to say I really love Norths food bowl it's so Cool . You are such a great father, husband ,pet owner and adventurer and storyteller. And not a bad singer either. LOL
Did this trip in August 1976. The road has not changed, but it looks like Telegraph Creek has lost some of the buildings. There were a lot of old timers still living there. You do amazing work with the drone, photography and narration. We had two boats: my C-1 and my friend's 17 foot Grumman. Terry Johnson wrote an article of our trip down the Stikine for BC Outdoors magazine and I was on the cover!

How did you get back to your car after reaching wrangell, AK?
When Wesley smiles, he lights up the world!
Hudson playing with the rocks and the pan, the harmonica, and helping load the paddles. If he can do all that stuff at his age, what will he do when he is five? A pretty amazing little boy. Thanks for letting Tori drive. Love your family adventures
My favorite part hands down Huddy playing his paddle guitar & the harmonica lol. Can't wait for next episode. 🙂🇨🇦👍👍👍👍🛶
Great show the other night Jim, you're dialing it in. Thanks 👍👍.
Calling Tori brave made me laugh. She must be one of the bravest women I've ever seen to go along on your adventures Jim. So much fun to watch the boys growing up. Huddy will be into everything soon enough, that's obvious. Loving this journey, cos back in 2000 I was up there too. Be well Baird's YYYEEEAAAAHHH!!!
I absolutely cannot wait for the next episode. I am sure you are still editing...but if not, and it's "ready", it would make an amazing Christmas present to come early!!! I never thought I would think a trip with your kids would be my favorite adventure...I'm sure I am not the the only person that is really enjoying watching Wesley and Huddy develop a little more with almost each video. Oh yeah, and Huddy is a total ham. Pretty sure he wanted to play air guitar with that paddle! Love watching your family as much as almost anything I do for recreation. Big props to you and Tori! VERY. VERY IMPRESSED!!!
This series has taught me not to be afraid to explore with my little one, however I need to be prepared. I love this series.
I'm continuously amazed at how calm and loving you all are. I have lots to learn from you.
Thank you For making these videos
Loved the part between the begining and the end

Favorite part: Hudson giving us some notes on the harmonica! 🎶🥰
So good to see your kiddies thriving...I can definitely see the progress in your older boy.
Dude you and your wife are great I’m stoked when I get off work and get to watch an episode that’s a great life your giving to your kids while they learn your passion for the outdoors every episode gets better love it man
Getting excited for the water journey part of this trip! Huddy definitely has some musical talent going on. So cute. Can't wait till the next video!

A bit scary for sure! Thanks for sharing!
Loved seeing the smile on Wesley"s face in the truck. I think what you are doing as parents are making a difference in his development. All the best! I am the individual you met at Young's in Wawa on your way back from this trip.

Nice man! I remember seeing you on the hey with a nice Nova Craft on your roof before we pulled into Young’s for gas. I think it’s all helping Wesley too. He has his first wiggly tooth today! I think he will learn to walk in the next year or so
2:04 Huddy, standing on the picnic table, jist lookin' for some trouble to get into. 😊
Having been enjoying this series of episodes. It gets better and better. Was very amused by the explanation by Tori of why she wants to drive - “I prefer to be in control. And I am not sure how focus is Jim when he tell his stories while driving”And Huddy was absolutely hilarious when he helped by throwing the paddles into the canoe😂
cool video. lookin forward to the next one. safe travels.
This looks like a case of 10 kilos of gear supposed to go in a 5 kilos space. There doesn't look like enough room for the whole family and dog and gear, but I know you guys will work some magic. Can't wait for the next one. Merry Christmas to all!
I found out my husband was afraid of heights on our honeymoon. He was white knuckling the ski lift. Needless to say we never did that again. I grew up in TO, going to Collingwood every weekend in the winter and Lake Simcoe, Algonquin and Baysville in the summer, so lots of both types of skiing. Great vids Jim and Tori, tysm!
ENJOY THE TRIP AND BE SAFE ~~~~~~~~~~~
Excited!
Oh my God, laughing my a** off the bady breaks out with the Air guitar Can't make that stuff up, love it.
All awesome! 👍😎🇨🇦💫
love this trip .kids are having a blast / ty can,t wait forthe next episode /i also love the history you are teaching us / you guys are great
Love you Jim!
You guys are fully equipped when it comes to long distance camping, my favorite part was when Tori brings out that shower 🚿 how cool was that, never seen before.. Just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas GUYS 🎉🎅🎁👼👼🐕 stay safe out there 🕊🙏❤
The scenery in the drone shots was epic, such a beautiful place. Loved all of it, especially Hudson playing the harmonica❤ Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for sharing 🙏.
OMG Huddy air guitaring on the paddle was priceless! 😂 Looking forward to seeing you guys get on the river 👍
When I've had a shite day at work and a mate posts something that's grounding it brings an epic smile
Stunning stuff💝🎄🎄🎄🎄
I absolutely lost it when Hudson was jamming on the canoe paddle ,”ready, one two three” the boy really cracks me up!
красота то какая! лепота!(с)
Huddys paddle/ guitar. Thank you. Beautiful video.
So cool to see where u had lunch!!! We stopped there too..got some awesome pics!! So beautiful..windy…but stunning!!
Beautiful scenery, in particular the Telegraph Creek, makes me strongly think back to my motorcycle adventures in the far north of Scandinavia, but twice the scale 😂
You have a beautiful family.
Huddy buddy is the best.
Hiya Both, Tori solid driving too girl, and yr afraid of heights phew! That's amazing. No wonder the boys are/will be so capable; yes I mean Wes too, with the experiences & opportunities you Both provide❣️
Best guitar player ever
I think you have a musician in your midst, Huddy rocked the oar guitar :) I noticed Wesley is sitting up really good. This adventure is only getting better with each episode, I don't think I could pick just one.
Thank you for Sharing this Nice vidéo !! Merci beaucoup. Pozz svima ot sefer I marija. Francija
You guys are building great memories. Great job with the drone shots it helps to show how big that part of the country is. Looking forward to the next episode.❤
I camped till end of October and yes the bugs were real bad this fall which is surprising. Epic video guys!
My favorite part - Huddy loading the paddles into the canoe and playing his paddle like a guitar, and Huddy playing the harmonica. Wow Telegraph Rd was scary, but beautiful scenery. Telegraph Creek sure is a historical town. Wesley is a joy with his cute smile. Yes, your canoe will be packed out with stuff. Reminds me of going camping when my kids were little. We loaded everything but the kitchen sink into the car. Great video Jim and Tory. Really enjoying your adventure.
Always sad when the video ends. Thank you Jim and Tori, truly amazing
Hiya Jim & Tori, Never get tired of this one. You do know Hudson's going to be driving by the time he's 5yrs lol. Solid driving Jim, epic scenery❣️

Merry Christmas to you and your family Jim and tell your brother Ted the same thing and anybody listening to this. I hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy new year and a safe new year. Thank you may God bless you and continue to bless you. thank you for all your great videos. Love everyone of them.😊
22:44 possibly the Best thing i have ever seen , is , when he loads the bunch of paddles
I've been down that road, and it's scary. The road is in a lot better condition and wider then when we were their and the Bailey bridges. More scary when we met transport trucks .wow . Still a beautiful area , like Tori I'm afraid of heights. Not fun and coming out was tense .I never got a good feeling in Telegraph it was eerie, past life bad experience. The boys are having a great time 😊. Can't wait for the next video awesome country in Northern BC .
I’ve got the giggles at end of this one with all the Huddy tracking, paddle hurling, rock collecting, harmonica playing fun! Wes continues his ever present smile and you two just hold it all together come hell or high water! Dang, just gorgeous scenery and hoping she floats 🥰👊🏻🙌🏻 APPRECIATE it all Jim & Tori, thank you!! Barret 💜👊🏻💪🏻
Wow! I have a fear of heights also! Tori is the GOAT! I could never drive or be a passenger on that road without being totally sedated!!!
21:54 - 1,2,3 Go...! So funny 😂

My wife and I spent a night at the Arctic Lodge in Dease Lake last summer, and I wish we had gone down Telegraph Road, looks amazing. Really enjoy all your videos, your kids are awesome, and Tori may be the bravest women I know of. This is a great series, thanks so much for doing them.
My gosh Huddy & Wesley are so stinking cute🙏💜
You guys are really living the life! And what amazing parents! Thanks for sharing
I did the Lower Stikine 3 times in the 90s. My friend and me just gathered 12 to 14 people from Germany (Baptist Church) and led them down to Wrangell. In fact 2 times of this we did it from Tuaton Lake to Wrangell, over 500km in less than 3 weeks. It was always great. This was the time when Dan Pecula run the Riversong café, he was also installing all the internet stuff in the village. One time we took the canoes with us from Wrangell to Skagway afterwards, one time they were retrieved by Dan himself. Absolutely amazing trip. Jim Baird is super crazy to do the trip with family including handicapped, but he knows it. Well if he did it that way, anybody can do it. But it is still a dangerous trip where you can fall in at several points. Especially the Great Glacier is an experience for lifetime (if it is still there). And crossing the delta to Wrangell should rellay be started half an hour bofore high tide, yes!
Terrific opening…I think Huddy is left handed (-;
Time for a bigger boat Jim! Might need to add a 20' esquif miramichi to the Santa list quick! Love all of it Jim and thanks for taking us along for the wild ride.

@@JimBairdAdventurer I'm seeing a sweet looking 20 ft. Makenzie by Clipper. That sliding bow would be nice for Huddy to rock the bow in front of Tori. We went Esquif due to 5 seater option for our 4 kiddos at price just a little north of 3k. 105lbs is a beast of a canoe to portage though, so as you know...don't need one..need em all! Merry Christmas to you and your sweet family!
Arial views crazy road and canyon cool.Packed full favorites.
cool adv
Loving the adventure.
Telegraph!!! Yeah buddddy. Amazing place…
Loving the trip so far

Hey Jim and Tori l’m really enjoying this video and Huddy’s got me rolling in my chair 😂😂😂. Thanks for sharing! 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯🎄🎄🎄
But Jim missed one thing on the road: this beautiful waterfall just when you first see the Stikine valley. It's just left on a very short trail. You are standing on top of it and see the hole which it has made, then falling down the cliff.
Awesome Family, and Great Videos, Thank You From Dominican Republic.⛵
Y'all are definitely moving up in the world, Jim. Yeah I had a friend that got lost up in B.C. on the backroads but finally stopped at an indian's cabin where he had the best smoked salmon he said he ever had.

That Stikine river valley sure is a beaut…I would drive back in first or second so you don’t have to use brakes too much..when it’s steep like that on gravel better to just go a steady slow.
Hard to pick my favorite part on an epic wilderness trip. But the horses surprised me!
All of it was good, will be interesting to see the paddling down the river goes.
Love the video. I really like the instrumental music, especially the one at the beginning of the video.
