3.5" is way too stiff to work, but we're in Norcal and it's hot as hell here, so I typically go 5.5"-6" gives us time to place and work it. Good video.

Tell me about it. And it has fiber with accelerator. In order to increase our chances of avoiding spalling during winter we pour stiff like a curb almost. Takes a lot of work but once it's done its built really well. Basically anytime weather is cold we pour early to get a lot of sunshine and we pour low slump with accelerator. Finishers hate it and I do too. But it ends up being a solid driveway. Thank you for your comment and support.

How much would something like this cost? I’m thinking of doing the same thing for ours but I don’t feel like I could do the finish work properly

Those buggies sure move material fast. Within 100 feet I can keep up with a small pump. Plus we don't need to use that 50/50 mix which is OK but not as good as a standard mix. They are expensive especially if you buy a tracked one. But damn is it helpful. Also gives us a good spot to wash out if there isn't anywhere on site to do so. Your videos look good and clean.

I never use that mix, and yeah I've used them for years way better than a bobcat you can put a half yard in a buggy

Do you guys use any shredded glass fiber reinforcement mixed in with (inside) the concrete? It’s supposed be great for reducing shrinkage cracks, movement, etc., etc. Just curious. :)

Yes we do use micro fiber on all our pours. It's a much smaller and thinner fiber than what you speak of. Better coverage and more benefits like those you mentioned.

May I ask what would be the reasons to tear out the original concrete other than water damage, structural Integrity problems Etc and do it over again? Thanks

In this specific case the damage was excessive and made it hard to walk on the driveway without footwear. And it increases home value when the driveway goes from this to the new one. Also home insurance goes down a little when it's new and not this bad. But at the end of the day I believe it's about personal preference. Could this old driveway done fine for a few more years? Yes. But some people like new. I always like to let them know they don't need new concrete.
