That’s why I don’t move out in lane two. To let someone in from the motorway slip road. It happened to me countless times too and now even if it’s clear in lane two I stay in lane one. They can merge in turn in front of me or behind me. There’s nothing saying that I have to change lane to let them in. Also that you sir nails the british insults. Great video and stay awesome.

I won’t say I am particularly good at it but I always get there although I rarely cause damage.... I’ve been doing this job for less than 2 years now... AND I LOVE IT!!! One thing I must add: our trailers’ rear axles are steered.... you won’t believe the manouvres we can make.... Greetings,Henk,Elim, the Netherlands.

Well done Raul. If it is still going. you should enter the Lorry Driver of the Year competition. As for drivers leaving you stranded in the middle lane, to me it is just common sense for them to reduce the cruise speed by one mile per hour as you say for a matter of a few seconds.

  • @AllDarkAngel

When someone keeps me in the middle lane after letting them in from the slip road, I just put my indicator on to show I want to move back over. Normally they take the hint, and back off. But yer really you shouldn't need to do that, but some people are just clueless.

And about the overtaking.... all our trucks are limited to 82km/h.... most other trucks go faster.... but only by just a bit!! I always release the Cruise Control if they overtake me... I can understand:most driver jobs mean: making as much kilometres as possible.... in a 15 hr day I am stil way under 9 driving hrs... we aren’t in hurry,it doesn’t hurt us to let other HGV’s pass quickly....

Love the content mate and I agree with everything you said about other ‘professional drivers’ keeping you in the middle/right lane. A similar situation that really frustrates me is when you start overtaking a loaded truck up an incline and you’ve passed half their truck, and then as they get to the top of the hill they start to speed up and eventually match your speed and then they keep you in the middle/right lane until they hit another incline. Like you said 1 km/h and soon enough you’re past them

Same as doing the old Kent Messenger Newspaper. You had to keep your offside wheels on the yellow line and watch that as the nearside was so close to the wall that if you used that mirror you would think you were scraping down the wall. The clamp truck would take the reels off the offside and then you had to skate the nearside reels to the back door.

If I see another lorry driver wants to overtake me I drop speed to 50. Because if he gained on me, that means he's faster than me anyway. It's no point to drive like an idiot and challenge other drivers. It doesn't matter if you get to your destination 5 minutes earlier or later. We all want to end our day next to our families at home. Stay safe ❤

Hats off for delivering to a place like that, I don't know if I could have done it. It is a 13,60 you have on right?? I remember they hired a new guy in the company where I used to drive for (on Saturdays). It was his first drive out of driving school and he got really stuck. He phoned the boss literally crying and said "I'm not driving a single meter anymore!". If it was a place like this, I couldn't blame him. Obviously the poor guy was in panic, I don't think he ever drove a truck anymore.

Whoever plans the layouts of trading/industrial estates in Britain, have never tried to deliver to them in a lorry. Narrow roads, cars and vans parked everywhere( mostly badly), and quite often customers who won't come out to give you a hand. Glad I'm retired, because it looks far worse these days. Good luck with your endeavours.

If you are criticising Raul, I think you may have misunderstood what happened. Raul moved over to the 2nd lane to allow the other truck to join from a slip road, but that truck left him out in lane two and maintained an identical speed preventing Raul from moving back. Raul was not overtaking. Raul could previously have forced the other truck to slow and merge behind, but instead made it easier by moving over. The right thing to do if that happens is to drop your speed by a tiny fraction for literally 10 seconds to allow Raul to clear him and move back. Instead he sat there matching his speed and forcing Raul to sit on lane two for miles. Awful driving and completely worthy of Raul's comments.

Raul maté from a newly qualified class 1 driver of 2 years, I’d say you was in the wrong. When you was in the second lane. When your learning your HGV license it clearly says in the books that you should not flash another driver to let them in. That’s one reason another is no she shouldn’t get off the cruise control for you. Why take a chance to let a sh*t driver in front of you. And if you really wanted to be in the left hand side, about you slow down for 10 seconds and the lorry can pass you and you can change into you beloved left hand land. That lorry driver owns no nothing stick to your lane. And he’ll stick to his lane. Ps I’ve done this before where I was cruising and the lorry driver on the second lane was fcking and abusing me. Just coz I was driving in my own lane???? What law says I have to give you way, so you can slow me down with your sh*t driving. Main but if what I’m saying is don’t worry about other’s driving their lorries if you want to change lanes you should do better driving like actually slowing down indicating and slowly but surely move to the left..
