That was great. I have no bad memories of the Taits when I used to catch them on the St Kilda and Sandringham lines in the 80s. I loved them the minute I saw them from the outside and inside. Of course the sound is wonderful too. Thanks for the treat.

One of my fondest memories of riding Taits was coming home from the Cameo cinema in Belgrave. It would have been the summer of 77 - 78. My friends and I used to go there to watch Star Wars , we went about 5 times! Coming down the mad mile between Upwey and Upper Gully in the darkness , standing in open doorways , it felt like 100mph and was probably faster than line speed to be honest. Maybe the driver was giving us a joyride?! We were probably the only passengers at that time of night. We always had a Tait for that trip and it was always a blast !

Ah the memories. Travelled to my first day of work in the city in May 1973 on a Tait (and many journeys until their retirement).

I used to travel to work on those old noisy and cold Tait sets. Our track never got the Harris trains. I hated the Tait thru and thru. But today, I’m surprised how much I enjoyed looking back on those times. Thanks.
