Driver Rolls Over in Semi with 40,000lb of Pepper!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Driver Rolls Over in Semi with 40,000lb of Pepper! What a SPICY crash we have here. Another container rollover fully loaded, this time with pepper. Originally I was going to do this with my 50ton rotator, Hulk, and Alex in Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator. We usually have 3 trucks per rollover for maximum efficiency and safety, but today was a very very busy day.
Luckily Hector was able to clear fast and assist using our 50ton Vulcan wrecker, and came just in time to set up the equalizing sling method on the tractor. This allowed full control from the rotators on the heavy container, which you'll see in the end worked out great. Once upright, the wrecker was able to quickly pull out the tractor while the rotators held the container. You cannot physically do this in one shot if you the front rotator was rigged to the container and tractor.
Of course speed is never the name of the game, but it sure helps to be able to get in and out of these jobs to clear the road faster. The container wasn't leaning and in good enough shape that the customer was able to take it away using one of his good tractors. All in all a quick and easy rollover with no injuries and no further damage!
Don't forget to head to www.pepestowla.com/shop after the video and grab your cool Pepe's swag to represent your favorite tow company!
►All footage was shot with my DJI Action 4 and Alex's DJI Mavic 3 Drone. I also edit my own footage using DaVinci Resolve Studio.

I really enjoy your content and channel. Your Dad, you of course and crew are Very knowledgeable and courteous when folks are all ready having a bad day. Back in the mid 1990s I drove a tow truck and worked just south of Flagstaff on I-17 so I had some bad weather, snow rescues and such but no heavy work and, as you well know, heavy towing is not for the untrained or light hearted.

@@frankbroker3698 Way too many times, I've seen the nose of a trailer sitting on the truck's frame rails... a couple of times, the trailer's legs slammed into the asphalt. Unloaded, it's embarrassing but recoverable. With a heavy load in the trailer... oops!! Hopefully, a heavy duty forklift can raise it enough to crank down the legs. When it's on the frame rails, with an air-ride tractor lift/fill the air bags. Get out and lower the trailer legs. Screw the legs down as far as you can, with a load it may not be much. Vent the truck's air bags and back under the trailer if there's enough clearance to lock onto the pin. If not, once again, hopefully, a heavy duty forklift can raise it enough to crank down the legs. It's not complicated but it sure can be tedious, especially if you have too much help standing around with lots of "advice" to offer. That's sooo helpful in an already stressful situation!! 😏👎 Worst case: You'll have to call Pepe for a "lift."
