    I like that you are doing more videos on Daytona. With you traveling all around Florida it gives us a good perspective. We are looking to build a house in Daytona but had reservations because you see tons of people saying Daytona is nasty. But when I went there, expecting the worst, I found I really liked it. To me it felt more Florida keys old Florida then you would expect. Much different then south florida. I like that laid back lifestyle. And sure Daytona boardwalk area can be crazy when they have major events - but what place wouldn't be with that many people hitting it all at once. Thanks for the continued real perspective on Daytona.

    I think I share your perspective and analysis of Daytona. I think the area is great, I really enjoyed it and want to go back. Of course things will be crazy during events and that is normal. It does have a much different feeling that south FL and thats one reason I like it too!

    Michael, If you really want the house next door, try a low ball offer, with no contingencies. Or a 5 day contingency for your approval of a contractor's (of your choice) written inspection. You can always live in the guesthouse & rent out the main house. If you qualify. Not a realtor but I've bought & sold several houses in Ca.

  • @MichaelBordenaro

    @MichaelBordenaro

    3 жыл бұрын

    The main problem is they are selling with a no appraisal contingency. That is a deal breaker for me bc whoever buys that house will need to come up with at least 100k out of their own pocket, plus down payment and closing costs. That is way too much of a bet for me, knowing that is not the true value of the house. I would never agree to that as the buyer

As an artist with an A in college level drafting, I've drawn many of the buildings there in Daytona- Oceans 2, 3, etc. But, the one that you indicated "Peck plaza" is indeed, my favorite. Yikes, never know when a CRAZY person might be out there going ROGUE!!! Michael, my Uncle & cousin live at the S end of the island in Ponce Inlet. The condos on the beach got hit pretty hard by a storm last year. It’s a little red-necky there, but the COL is a lot less than in Miami Beach. My Dad lives just off the island in Port Orange. Prices have gone up markedly there, but nothing like in Miami Beach. Also, u should rent thru the local real estate rental cos. versus AirBNB or VRBO as they just tack on additional fees to the local real estate co.’s listings. Bob S.

    This was absolutely awesome and educational. Driving on the beach is kind of a bucket list item for me, being a gear head. up here in the Maryland. There are several beaches that allow this, on the east coast, but not in MD that I'm aware of. That would make for some awesome pictures with almost any cool car. Daytona I think is a place to consider living. Thanks for showing us. I been following all your videos and sharing them with The Wife for she can see what we missing. I would think it would be cheaper than the South Florida area. The racetrack is a plus for me. That umbrella blowing is funny unless your car is the one it hits. I'm going to have to research that area. Post the result of the rental situation. Keep them coming. Loving the videos.

    Thank you Mr Motorcars! You have to do it one day when you get a chance. Next time you come to FL you should drive down from MD and stay in Daytona for a bit. I think it would be a great place to live, and it is quite a bit cheaper than south FL, at least for now...That umbrella was a close call😄 I'll definitely make another video on the area, as that was part of the trip as well. Last November I sold the house I bought in 2018 in Los Angeles County, made a 200k profit and now I'm buying a 4Bed, 2 Bath duplex in Daytona beach Florida only 3 minutes to the beach for 205k. I'm moving soon. Don't worry Florida I never voted Democrat in my life and never will!, I hope Florida doesn't get ruined like California did. On the other hand I did some research and found out that airbnb is not allowed by the city and county. The issue is still being handled in court or something like that and some residents are in favor and other against allowing airbnb short term rentals. In order to rent real estate currently in Daytona it has to be for at least six months. If I could have money to buy more real estate in the Daytona beach area I would do it. Is in my opinion and despite the prices increasing , still a very affordable and nice area to live and have rental properties, compared with the rest of Florida and the USA, specially places like California which are crazy expensive and ugly to live for many reasons.

You hardly notice it against the noise of the ocean, waves pounding the sand and general people noise. And if cars are leaking oil like a sieve then they probably wouldn't have made it to the beach anyway.
