I never get tired of watching your videos in general, and this one in particular. The banner of the Springfield Informer reads (or at least read, and I assume still does), Tis a privilege to live in the Ozarks. I don't thing Ozarkers can fully appreciate that until they move away. By the way, the township whose name you couldn't remember is Brookline, and I believe it was annexed by Republic many years ago. The reason people line up to get into E's Inn is because the food and atmosphere are amazing. Had you turned right on Cox Avenue when you drove down Hines, you could've seen my old house, and had you continued to Lee, and turned right, you could've seen my mother-in-law & father-in-law's house that we picked out for them while it was still being constructed, before they moved from California. You could've made a U turn and gone down Lee, and turned left to see where my great grandson goes to pre-school. But you missed the opportunity. Lowes in Republic is where my eldest grandson first met his (then) future wife. I have so many happy memories of living there. I really miss the slower pace of life.

Yes! It was a shame we couldn't remember in the moment. Honestly we may end up doing more videos in these smaller towns, it just depends on what our channel looks like in the next few years! It is slower.... BUT it feels more rewarding that way! We love getting more of a small town feel.

@@wiserlivingrealty I really hope you do more videos on the surrounding towns... ESPECIALLY REPUBLIC!!! Just writing that last sentence made me have to pause due to homesickness. My wife tells me it's my grandson and the great grandkids I miss, but not Republic itself. And we DO have kids, grandkids, and in May, a great grandson here,.but I wouldn't object if the whole family moved back to Republic!

If you’re talking about the annual Sept Steam-o-Rama, I’m good friends with Doc Comstock…it’s been moved to Halltown as of Sept 2023!! We attend annually!!

My wife and I moved from San Diego to Republic in January 2000, and lived there till July 2016, when we moved to Indiana. I really miss Republic. Do be prepared for some major culture shock on the level of the TV show Green Acres! Oh, and if you want real Mexican food, Purple Burrito and Pancho's (both in Springfield) are both up to Roberto's standard.

@@matthewrobinson4323 There used to be a small Mexican restaurant on South Cambel in Springfield ran by a big Mexican guy and his wife. They made the best Sanchos I've ever had. He put a big hot pepper and his own hot sauce on them that tasted out of this world. I miss that place. It's been gone for many years now. I get heart burn now so they might be fatal for me at this point. They were greasy but oh so good.

@@stevenw4549 That sounds awesome, but I think it might be a different type of Mexican food than I was talking about. In Southern California there are several chains of Mexican fast food, the Mexican equivalent of McDonald's or Burger King. Roberto's, Alberto's, etc, etc. In Springfield Purple Burrito and Pancho's are representative of what I mean.

You need to update this. You entered Republic city limits once you went under the bridge at James River and HWY 60. Also Amazon is in the city limits of Republic, Republic goes all the way to I44.

The train likely stopped to meet another. They don't usually take too long in Republic but can block off parts of the town.

@@kevindalton1502 I know what it's like in Springfield since I've lived here all my life. And now I'm 70. Yes, there is crime everywhere, but it is the kind of people in certain areas. Most crimes are more minor in most parts, but it can get more serious on the north in certain areas. You got a lot of tweakers on the west, but they are usually too high do anything. Near center city you have more burglaries. They even rob from each other. North, you get more violence such as stabbing and shootings. Though you can get crime anywhere. Out where I'm at burglars get shot. That helps curtail that activity. The facts you read about aren't always the true facts. On the northside they had flashing blue lights at Walmart at night to let you know it was a high crime area. I don't know if they still have them because I stay away from those areas now. As any city grows it will only get worse. It also depends on what kind of politicians you have running things.

The High School I went to had a Mustang horse logo and I lived on a farm in Ohio we owned a Mustang Horse
