    You’re right, why the caravan industry doesn’t have this as standard ? Similar to the sailing ⛵️ industry! I would’ve place it over a slide for fixing convenience but neat job! 🎉 One more video once you have tested showing results and maintenance please

    Great video. I'm particular about my drinking water and have a water softner with filters on my house. I chose transparent housings for the 10x2 filter cartridges so I could more easily monitor them. I use Aqua Pure AP11T housings that need to be kept out of the sun. They are high quality housings with applicable standards compliance certification.

    Thank you guys. It’s everything I had hoped and more. We are 💯 installing one. Seeing how long the main membrane is we will be mounting on the side tub wall of the Wildtrack. Awesome Info that we can detach the karcher and use for other jobs. Already have that exact model in the garage, so win ✅ Thank you for showing the install and opening up our eyes to this gift to be able to stay off grid longer. 🙏🏻💯💦

    Great idea and well done on the installation. Can you use the water you’ve run through the desalination kit and into your water tank to back flush? Makes sense that if you back flush for 2 minutes it shouldn’t use a huge amount of water compared with 80l of fresh water per hour.

    Well, spot on selecting an area that can handle water spillage, you can't avoid that with filtration, lucky your still flexible installing in a narrow space..A modular framed box to slide in the rear of the vehicle would be the rolls Royce, but you did not have that privilege.10 out 10 for effort.

    Just a minor thing. TDS is Total Dissolved Solids. TDS refers to the total concentration of organic and inorganic substances dissolved in water. These substances include salts, minerals, metals and ions.

    Nice work and great install. I have been involved with many large scale desalination plants in my career of which this is a mini version. One thing to consider that you may have dealt with is the fact that an RO membrane removes so much dirt, minerals etc it is often (every plant I have dealt with) necessary to add back chemicals (remineralisation) to adjust alkalinity etc. so suitable to drink and manage corrosion of metal fittings. Was this a consideration or mentioned by the supplier? It may be being dealt with in another way so just genuinely interested? Once again, great work and should keep you off grid for ages!

    Thanks mate, appreciate your insight. I don't know if it will be a problem given how much we'll be using it. I doubt drinking RO water intermittently and for short periods of time would be an issue. If this was your only water source then maybe?

    @@TheLifestylePioneersthe actual pump is 12v and under 100. Don't seen any benefits it need 240v and it's not rated for flow or duty cycle required. This is spare parts and tye filters are whole house when RO has little flow

    Such a cool thing to have about time these systems started to come into the caravan industry just a side note check the constant run time on the pressure washer I’ve been through a lot of cheaper ones because most of them only have a constant use time of 20-30 min then they over heat I’ve ended up with a 800$ karcher one to fix the issues 🤙🏻

    G’day guys, hey without sounding negative, I recon the hyper saline ‘waste water’ could be an issue just as grey water is (yep, kinda ridiculous). Also the duty cycle of a Karcher pump, -(how long you can run one for continuously). I guess you could do smaller 5-10L batches if it overheats. I thought if I was fitting all that plumbing into that tight space, I’d use a vertical drawer to slide the whole manifold out for servicing. Nice job and another great video. Thanks for sharing! Cheers 👍

  • @TheLifestylePioneers

    @TheLifestylePioneers

    An issue in what sense? We don't have any issues with grey water. The Karcher pump is water cooled so should run for a decent amount of time. I guess we'll find out. We're not the first ones to use it though. A drawer isn't a bad idea but adds to the weight and complexity of the install. Now it's in there, we can get to everything we need to.

    Apart from what Simon/Liz mentioned in their response, I believe the general idea is for all attendees to camp in the one site to readily socialise and meet one another (and to meet Simon and Liz in person for a yarn) rather than be spread out across various locations which to me, really was the whole point of the event. I’m also guessing another reason to camp at the Hipcamp site was to showcase the natural beauty of the place and the facilities available

    Hello You don,t mention what You are doing with the waste water , seeing a Reverse Osmosis system wastes 3 to 20 times the water it makes , it has to go somewhere , put it in the same place You dump Your grey water , also with a bit of research You can buy a total 12 / 24 volt systems , run Your High pressure pump dry , You will kill it - doesn,t matter if it is $200 or $2000 they will get destroyed
