I remember when Surge first came out. I was in high school (1996-1997 or so). My friends and I were at the state hockey tournament that winter. My friend, Eric, bought one of those giant belly blaster sized cups of Surge. He was sitting right next to me when our team scored the game winning goal. We all jumped jumped up to cheer, except for Eric as he had his giant pop and food in his lap. What I didn't realize was as I jumped up he was taking a drink from the Surge and I bumped him while raising my arms. The entire cup of Surge dumped all over him and his food. Ahh, Fond memories.

I remember in the early 90's they released 3 different flavors of pepsi and Bought a couple of each and just put them into the back of a storage cabinet knowing they were for a limited time. I had planned to keep them as collectibles. Sadly the cans were made from steel instead of aluminum for some reason and every one of them rusted and leaked out by the late 90's. Dad wasn't real happy with me lol.

In the 1970s, there were pull-tab cans. By the early-1980s, for several years, there were soda cans with two holes on top -- a small vent hole and a larger pour hole. Both had push-down tabs. Around 1980, a classmate of mine used to buy this very cheap no-name soda. There was no hole in the top of the can; it had to be opened with a knife or similar tool.
