Biedrins admits that both talent and height played a role in his basketball journey, considering himself lucky. However, surprisingly, he never thought of limiting himself to the NBA as a child. It wasn't until the age of 15-16 that the idea gained traction, fueled by the presence of adult spectacles in his games. The turning point happened when the draft of young players approached, for which the Golden State "Warriors" showed the most serious interest, paying the Latvian team "Skontoteitas" 350 problem challenge from the half million compensation for breaking the contract. In the 2004 NBA draft, Biedriņa was selected by the Golden State "Warriors" in the first round with the overall number 11. He is the first drafted basketball player in the history of Latvian basketball. At that time, 18-year-old Andris was the youngest player in the league. NBA Biedriņš flourished in 2006-2007. in the season when Don Nelson became the head coach of the Golden State "Warriors". In the next three seasons, the Latvian basketball player averaged 9.5 points per game, and in 2007, the "Warriors" qualified for the NBA playoffs for the first time after a long break. Andris Biedriņš is one of the all-time worst free throw shooters in NBA history. He has placed on this list with such legendary players as Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, Andre Drummond and DeAndre Jordan. In the "Warriors" jersey, Biedriņš played a total of 510 games, starting 311 times in the starting five in the regular season. He averaged 6.4 points, 7 rebounds while shooting an impressive 59.5%.
