She had a tough life emotionally. To be exposed so young to hollywood culture that open a young child to excess and abuse. To forgive and heal takes a lot of effort and she succeeded where many failed. Shia lebouf and the mickey mouse kids are some of the examples.. Children needs normal life.. If they dont experience that, there is an emotional and spiritual hole that needs to be filled...

I can’t imagine growing up in the insane environment that she did. The movie sets, the dance bars drinking at 7, doing cocaine at 11. Not having a present father, and having a crazy mom. And living a life a child shouldn’t have to live. But yet she has grown up to be a amazing kind person who just seems lovely. And she takes a fierce interest in her children, making them good nice people. Bravo Drew you are awesome. I wish I was her friend.

Isn't that what people usually type on?
I’m so glad she turned out okay!! I cannot imagine putting children that young under the spotlight. Well done Drew!
I love Drew Barrymore. I'm definitely buying her book.
Gosh I love her!
if the door knob opened by itself, my first thought wouldn't be "Dad?" it would be to get the fuck outta there.

I would do that too but the moment was different for Drew Barrymore. But I get it, people just have to joke about every tiny thing now. Even when it is out of context.

youbetter watchout I don't think it was a disrespectful joke, I would think there was someone breaking in. She has titanium ovaries and a strong bladder. And no, I am not joking. Good memory for her though.

My first thought was wind, faulty hinges, door wasn't completely shut etc. and someone assumed it was a ghost like usual.
im just kinda browsing here and then i saw Drew i was like "holy crap!!! thats my Idol" I love her so much and i love ellen for inviting her. ive been wishing to meet drew since i was like11 and im 19 now and still hoping for that day. meeting both of them would be FANTASTIC.
It is frustrating that some people laugh at a time when it's supposed to be emotional but just remember, there are people out there that laugh at really emotional things like that. It's a coping mechanism for them, and it is a real thing.
Weird how he waited to become a ghost to want to be around her

This happens often..When you’re out of your ego body, you come to terms with how you’ve affected others and your Soul wants to make amends.
So amazing to hear her talk about her tumultous past without a trace if bitterness or rancor. This is actually more inspiring than i thought it would be. I hope to be in that place someday.
Drew Barrymore is such an open book I love her so very deeply and relate to her story so much
Drew is one my favorite actress very talented beautiful lady
I absolutely adore Drew Barrymore. She is my favourite. And my girl crush. 😁
3:37 Anyone else notice a few people in the audience laughing when she mentioned that her dad had cancer? She turn and was like "the hell is wrong with you people?"

Wow she is so connected with understanding of life. She had 2 amazing souls that made 1 amazing woman.
«Can I say hi to Steven? Steven, I love you» so cute
I love her. just love her. I idolized her back in the 90s when I was a teen. i mean she was my everything. I had a "Drew scrapbook" and the whole bit. lol. eventually that all stopped, but I still adore her. how can you not? she is just a beautiful, beautiful soul. ❤
I just love Drew. She is so real and genuine.

when that's what you had as a child sometimes the word just sticks , I sometimes say that, meaning keyboard.
Happy 46th Birthday to Drew Barrymore! (February 22, 2021).
I love her. I love Drew the person in interviews just as much as Drew the actress. The person she allows us to see is simply lovely to listen to and witness. Yup, I love her!
Finaly found you on you tube normaly watch you via my sisters facebook page, I live in Uk she is still in US, You Rock make me laugh so much keep it up!!
Drew Barrymore is such a genuine soul. Her sincerity shines forth to this very day. May she be well. Please join me in appreciating her for who she is.
Hearing her stories makes me appreciate my parents more. But kudos to Drew for leaving all that life behind.
Her book was amazing. I recommend listening to the audiobook, she voices it and it’s like Drew is telling you stories from her life.
She’s the one actress that turned out to be the most humble human ever. You just wanna be Drew’s friend. Even if you don’t know her personally. I didn’t know her childhood was so scarred. She turned out so well. She’s a legend.
her mother has the same eyes and mouth as drew
How wonderful that she's written this book. She's absolutely inspiring.
Wish this show was on in the uk 💚

I love Drew, she seems like such a sweet and kind person.
Hi Ellen , I love Drew Barrymore , she's such a talented & beautiful actress !!! 👍😊❤❤❤
she’s so beautiful and she seems like the nicest , kindest , down to earth person ily drew
This is me after hearing about the "visit" from her deceased dad: 😭
I love how she looks so full of life and projects so much joy.
Please have Adele on your show!!!
E.T. is my favorite movie of all time. I absolutely love this story. Love you, Drew!
Oh wow I felt her so deeply, didn't get to read the book yet but feel for her moment as she explains 💞🌼💫
I can't get Abbi's impersonation of Drew out of my head now... (Broad City reference...)
I'm glad I got to hear her story about the door opening and she felt it was her dad. I feel it was, too.
I'm reading her book now and it's fantastic. Her perspective on life is inspiring. I love her
What a lovely human being.
Something about her voice soothes me. I love her so much
I had a similar experience many years back, so I believe Drew when she told the story when the door knob turned and the door opened. That was her Dad visiting her.
She's so down to earth ❤️
I've always loved Drew Barrymore. Plus she's been honest about her travails without being self-important, and for me that counts for a lot.
She's so pretty and elle you're too💟
She went through so much h from parents and she still loved them wow pretty crzy
Love drew Barrymore and if you have read her book, then wow, what a life xx, loved this book ,, if you get it get the audio version like I have cause she is reading so drew reading her life to you, best thing ever
Her experience with her dad made me tear up....
She made me tear up on the last part. But then someone in the audience let out a laugh and I got confused
Absolutely love Drew Barrymore!!
Who just doesn't love Drew Barrymore?
Drew has the word pretty on her face and Elle you too
Omg 😆 I love her so much 💜💕
I love her so much
She is amazing! :)
Drew is as beautiful as the morning Dew.
I love how Drew had a STE with her father after he transitioned, she should talk with IANDS because it is very real her fathers spirit visiting her when scattering his ashes.
I love Drew she looks so natural and real ♥️
Not sure why she wrote the book on a typewriter, but I'm very sure it was therapeutic to put everything in print like that. It's great that she's turned around and is a loving mom to her own child.

I really wish I was on the Ellenshow... 😊
She is beautiful
omg i love her, where can i get her book?!?!
She's had such an interesting life. She's had serious highs and serious lows, it was a really interesting read recommend it to those who are fans of drew barrymore and those who are just intrigued by her history!
She is an extraordinary being.. 💕
She's so awesome and amazing I love watching her movies
basically ellen just went 'and then after he died tell the funny story' like... what, haha he died and then what, wow
I was just talking about how underrated she is, and I don't understand why she never won an oscar. Grey Gardens? Come on.
Love them both!
Please have Caterina Scorsone on the show! ❤️
Damn... Drew can captivate with a story!
It's so nice to see her now as a mature caring and articlate person, conquering her chaotic and sad past.
