Let's hope there's more to add. Like maybe a playoff hit to win a game maybe?

Great guy. You can see his positive character! He has shown his commitment to baseball by grinding in farm leagues, and it's finally paid off. Hopefully more!!!

This would be my dream. Get up to bat, crowd is cheering me on, I get timed out, strike one. Next pitch, I watch it go right down the middle, strike two. Third pitch I step out of the box, adjust my gloves, touch my helmet, grab my nuts a couple times and the time runs out, strike three. I had an awesome time being in the major leagues.

Makes you wonder, what keeps you going for 13 years? Is he still seeing incremental improvements in his game to warrant the perserverance? I mean, it beats working for a living, but the salary can't be much for someone of his peer group in the civilian world.

Either he really loves the game or has nothing else to do.

Cool moment, but why would a MLB team hang on to a player this long in the minors?

Ever seen "Bull Durham?" MiLB teams need players that can mentor their teammates, and being the best player on the team is not required.

I just saw that he got sent back down to minors. Is this true!?

Yes, the only reason he had the opportunity to get his two hits is that he was appointed as the 27th player for a doubleheader. I haven't seen a report of why he was called up from AA to MLB, but there are LOTS of ex-major league players who had one or two game careers in the majors.

@@roberthudson1959 Ok, so this wasn't a retirement "gift" from the parent club, a feel-good, public relations idea from the front office, to create some media buzz? He's not retiring, and he always WAS going to be sent back down to the minors, right?
