Yates has 6 olympias. Baye and vincent have 0. Yates also said in numerous interviews he injured himself by using same intensity while on a strict competition diet with very low body fat while he should've eased up as you don't grow more muscle in last weeks of contest prep

Except that Drew would argument that the quick cadence on reps that Yates used, especially with those poundage, cause micro-tears in things like ligaments that accumulate over time & lead to the actual injury. Just because Yates made a claim about how his injury originated doesn't prove that it originated that way.

As if genetics and “supplements” don’t play the main role. There are many guys out there who will always have bigger arms/shoulders/calves than you even if they didn’t train once in their life. Does that make their training advice superior? Their form? Of course not.

I can prove Drew is 100% wrong in this case. The injury that ended Yates' career was primarily caused by not lowering the weights when he was cutting. Cutting is being in a caloric deficit to loose body fat and he wanted to lift the same weights he lifted when he was in a caloric surplus. He learned when your in a calorie deficit u must lower the weights because your strength is not the same, if you don't than you will get injured Had he simply done that he seems certain his injury would of been avoided

Yates form was impeccable in all of the videos of him training that I’ve seen. When it comes to training beyond failure, it’s normal to use a bit of momentum to bang out the last rep or two. Aside from that his form was basically perfect 🤔
This guy can teach Michael Jackson how to sing
Honestly can’t believe what I just heard. Dorian Yates used extremely good form with slow, controlled reps.
Dorian Yates had very good form while performing exercise. Expecially considering the amount of weight he was using.
People in the comments saying “who is this guy?” As if that means anything. Stop getting upset because someone disagrees on something that your idol did. He also said Yates is the reason he got started on HIT so it’s not like he thinks Yates is stupid. What he said was fair, Yates did get injured a lot.

Dorian told me first hand that he only got injured pre contest due to his dying out process which all us pro bodybuilders did. Further more Dorain's form was impeccable. He likes Yates; Drew thinks his cadence was too quick.
Yates form was always spot on
And you are ???? Mr Olympia for what year ??????
His injuries were caused by dry compounds used pre contest. Couple that with diet, dehidration and overall exhaustion of the prep.
I watched several videos of Yates working out and it seemed like his form was flawless. However, his cadence was quick compared to what Drew Baye advocates. The number of Mr. Olympia wins proves nothing about Drew's point. Oh, the claim is that reps performed quickly can lead to small tears in the ligaments that can accumulate over time and lead to large injuries, especially at weights Yates was using.
One is a 6x Mr. Olympia. The other is somebody I just found out about in this video 😂
Yates only ever got injured during contest prep, never in off season, he pushed it too hard when he was too lean and dry… he says as much him self that he should have just cruised in.
DY warned us of the IG critics
What about all the new evidence that only stretch range reps have any affect on hypertrophy? Full range reps have been shown to be less effective than stretch range (lower half) on leg extensions, arm flexors, chest and hamstrings.
You don't need to have virus to understand how it works, this guy is right, I saw Dorian doing lateral raises, his form was bad, but his intensity and low volume was insane, props to mike mentzer.
Never heard of this guy but I’ve heard of Yates
His injuries came from hoisting, some pretty heavy poundage while in the cutting phase muscle, being comprised of about 72% water. When you’re getting closer to competition you’re dehydrating just like when fighters are cutting weight for fights and through dehydration that muscle literally becomes more brittle and more susceptible to injury therefore, lowering your weights would be highly recommended closer to contest prep The same with fighters training and fight camp, then cutting all that weight right before the fight makes you much more susceptible to fatigue, injury, and knockout. Look at the lightweight fighters, cutting weight, and then taking head shots very dangerous very similar issues. The man was hoisting some pretty heavy poundage even up to contest time
We’re are your Olympia’s???
How many Mr Olympia has this bloke won ???
6x Olympian = Dorian is always right 😂
Dorians form was disgustingly good, wtf?
We must not watch the same dorian yates
Right...
How many Olympia titles do you have sir lol? Well Dorian won 6x IN A ROW and in arguably the most competitive time in open bodybuilding lol so hush mate 😂
When blasting and cutting for a contest 💩 happens, Regardless of proper form. Dorian's form was impeccable. What was this guy looking at?
Dorian's form was not unusual at all for a bodybuilder. His form was only dogshit if you're looking at it from an 8 seconds per rep perspective
@universesixhit642

His form was actually the best among all the top level bodybuilders.
@connorclarke1218

@@universesixhit642yeah it was. He had bottom half genetics in shape, but built density through pushing on the positive and squeezing on the negative. Let’s be real, nobody was doin that in bodybuilding and they still aren’t. Only one I can think of is Nick Walker but even he rushes it. Dorian had the best form of any Mr Olympia, but he didn’t have perfect form
Most injuries happen because of overtraining. Not properly recovering from bouts of physical exertion over and over again puts a person at a higher risk for injury. You could have perfect form and still get injured from overtraining. Good form can limit your chances of injury but unless you recover properly it won’t matter.
Dude has never watched Dorian Yates train before, Dorian is a big advocate for slow and controlled weight training
HIT is very effective due to the intensity used, Tempo on the other hand is exercise dependent and the length of a rep within reason makes no difference other than it can limit both intensity and weight used
If Dorian had slowed down , he'd look just as jacked as Drew 👌
This is what's known as one upmanship always someone knows better 🤐😴😴😴
Dude, you're la king a lot of knowledge. I'll give you just 1 circumstance. Lack of water during dieting phase ,yes ,you can tear a muscle. There's many issues you aren't thinking of but im not here to write a book
Dorian mentioned it was also do to training hard while on aromitize inhibitors which dried up joints and tendons that will cause inury
Lmao you must be lost. Dorian was the man training with the best technique and for.
Blood flow All about blood flow. And some bodybuilders don't care. How it looks, when they are getting it. Dorian did both. He was strict form when the weights were light. But on his heavy days, blood flow.
Long length partials are now en vogue. So maybe he was onto something
He seems to have seen some videos I haven't lol
Absolutely right
Eh? Dorian Yates had great form! All pro Bodybuilders at that level that are t natural will get some injuries. He didn’t get his through bad form, he got his bicep tear etc through training to hard while cutting just before the big comp
Although this man is correct about good form, I don't know if this really applies to Dorian Yates. Every bodybuilder gets a little sloppy on some sets. It can actually help you train more effectively when done on a few sets only. However, Yates was never out of control when he lifted.
YeH he always yanked at his stronger muscles and didn’t yank at his wearier through restriction of regime at his other muscles and his his restriction restriction made him inbalanced but he is the best body builder genetically of all time
Yates has great form, total trolling here
His for was absolutely letter perfect, slow and deliberate. I think you must be thinking of someone else
@donrobbiedeathstare272

No it was not. Please please watch the blood and guts videos. His form was not perfect at all. He was huge, he was amazing, his promotion of HIT is great, but his form in conjunction with how intense he trained, was unsafe and his injury record reflects that.
Is this guy buggin? Dorian prided himself on good form. It was apart of his shtick. In fact one might say the reason for his injury’s was being so deep into prep and maneuvering heavyweight with such concentration and precise form, the muscle couldn’t stand the load under such precise concentration!
A Chicken Talks about how a lion has to hunt😂😂😂😂😂
What??????? Dorian always lifted with solid form and technique. The heck this dude is talking about? Furthermore, Dorian is on record saying that his injuries came from training with that intensity and poundage when he was deep in his contest prep when his body fat was real low and his calories were low. And he realized, looking back, that he should of eased up on the intensity since in contest prep with low calories you are not in a building phase. But anybody can go look up his training footage and you see he was always solid with his form and being in control of the weight. Guys like big Ronnie and branch lifted heavy with very loose form on a lot of lifts.
In the next episode he will tell to Lionel Messi how to win a golden ball
Love Drew Baye!!!He tells it like it is.Hes like the Shawn Ray of H.I.T.
I bet Mike Mentzer would laugh at this video if he was alive
Sir, people get injured regardless! You can literally break an ankle getting off your car. (With strict form) All those could’ve, should’ve, would’ve are complete garbage! Ronnie is the G.O.A.T.!
Are we talking about the same Dorian Yates here ?
never smoke weed on empty stomach
Wrong. He has immaculate form. He got hurt training too heavy while his body was depleted during precontest/ post prep.
Was the winstrol bud
Pure bs..Yates won the Mr Olympia 6x..so it worked for him..& it’s not even true..Dorians form was almost always perfect..explosive & strict...
You can 100% injure yourself even with strict form, if you don't have proper nutrition. Nutrition is key to everything health.

That’s truth and actually he said it , he should go lighter on diet

Is this guy serious? What’s he talking about?
How many Olympia’s did YOU win??? Lmao
SAY that to my torn pectoral muscle 😢
SO many people have injured themselves while lifting with "correct" form, wtf is he talking about
But if Dorian is training to failure doesn't that mean when you start to fail your form is going to break down as well?.. I guess it would depend on one's definition of failure.. stop when your form starts to fail or stop when you completely fail.. I certainly don't know but I do know what he looked like and his achievements. Would he have gotten as big as he did if he stopped when his form broke?? I don't think it can be explained that easy but crap idk lol I do know he was 6 times Olympia tho
🤡🤡🤡
Dorian’s form wasn’t bad. The issue is the progressive overload that he was doing along with other bodybuilders. When your on gear you continue to push the envelope continuously until tendons give out through wear and tear. Even people that aren’t on gear that practice good technique if your doing it over years things start to wear down. If you have been lifting for 30 plus years and havent developed joint pain of any kind you are an anomaly.
I mean no disrespect to Drew but him and Jay Vincent preach about this super slow rep speed and mock everyone going faster with there reps even though they look bigger than them, I don't get that
You mean 6x Mr Olympia Dorian Yates? Who is this again?
Not true. Not true that his form was bad. And not true that if your form is perfect you are immune to injury. Injury is just like accidents. They happen when it's your fault, and they happen when it's not.
Dafuq🙄... This guy lives on another universe..
Dorian had some of the best form in the business. If you want to see shit form - watch , Branch Warren.
This takes the award for most nonsensical thing I’ve watched today. Train as hard as humanly possible as frequently as you like and you’ll never get injured? Dude has a PhD in bro science.
You are criticizing a 6 time Olympia winner who has actually come out without as many injuries as most...You are talking crap. If you achieved his level then you can comment on this. His form was actually pretty good. Beta male!
I heard that this guy taught Stevie Wonder how to play Piano.
He just trained with Dorian….obviously must of changed his mind….
i disagree with the old man . going heavy while dehydrated, hyperextension of any muscle is very likely to tear the muscle.
