Insertion lace was used extensively as both a decorating element and fabric-saving technique, back in the day. Nowadays is mostly used in heirloom dressmaking. This video was part of the Dressmaking Series 2019 that I published via Patreon, montly video tutorials where I show you how to make doll clothing.
The little bit of antique lace I am using was purchased at an Antique's Market in Barrie, ON. It was heavily damaged so I used it sparingly over many years on my doll clothing.
