I didn't see Joseph's sister, Dinah, anywhere in the movie.

Question what did Asenath mean when she said she thought Joseph learned something in that cell and what did reminding him of her bringing him food have to do with their conversation in the present.

Basically, Joseph's time in prison was an incredibly humbling experience. At the beginning, Joseph was somewhat prideful and insensitive to his brothers' feelings, like bragging about his dreams where they were shown bowing to him. Even though he's imprisoned under false charges, he grew in godly character throughout his time there. In the movie, when Asenath brought him food, it demonstrated how someone looked after him and didn't leave him in desolation. She's reminding him that he has an opportunity to show mercy to his brother(s) as well as empathy because he understands what its like to be in that same situation. I hope that helps!

@@PandaBearsAreEpic Ok thanks for clearing that up I didn't appreciate Asenath's character because the film portrays her as this loving supportive wife character but to me she came off as insensitive to Joseph's trauma and didn't care what his brothers did to him because in the end their cruelty brought them together which seems pretentious. And as you said when Joseph doubted his brothers changed she face palmed. I don't think she should force her husband to do what she thinks is right and I think it's implied that was the first time Joseph told her anything about his past before he was a slave so she can't be certain if they've changed or not since she hasn't met them before not to mention the last time someone tried to convince Joseph to make peace with his brothers AKA Rachel they made her think her only child was dead. Rachel and Asenath may have meant well but it seems like they're taking the brothers side and but it seems like they're taking the brothers side and the entire movie places says all the blame on Joseph for what happens in the story of course Rachel couldn't have known what the other sons would do after she had her talk with Joseph during bloom but just talking to him didn't help anything and Joseph for giving his brothers is important but my problem with Asenath is I feel she had to let Joseph work things out on his own and test of his brothers had changed since he's been through a lot which half was caused by her aunt.

@@PandaBearsAreEpic as I said earlier the film places all the blame on Joseph for openly bragging about his dreams but Jacob isn't called out for starting the whole thing by favoring Joseph and even though the movie claims the brothers have changed and feel remorse for selling Joseph it's more downplayed here than it is in the Bible because they cut scenes like all of the brothers being arrested and they talk about how it might be God punishing them for selling Joseph but here even though they're terrified of this Egyptian governor accusing them of trumped up charges terrified isn't the same as sorry especially since they claim they've done nothing wrong while they're being arrested for the stolen cup which we all know it's a lie it's also debatable whether their remorseful for selling Joseph only because it hurt their father not to mention it just seems there's no excuse for what they did. I guess the problem is this movie is biblically inaccurate and my grandma who's a religious scholar advises me not to watch movies like those.
