Might be interesting to know that the keyboardist in this video is not the same one who originally did the song .. that was Derek Sherinian and he has a much different sound

That’s Jordan Rudess. He has been with Dream Theater since 1999 Metropolis Pt. 2 Scenes From A Memory. He is probably the best keyboardist on the planet!

James LaBrie got really bad food poisoning in 1994 on a trip to Cuba. It caused his vocal cords to rupture from coughing. It took many years to recover and never got his upper registry back 100%. Nice high notes that he used to hit smoothly and beautifully are more raspy and screamy now. It’s a terrible thing to have happen. James said that he didn’t feel like he was healed until 2002 and then just 95% of his normal range.

I meant that this reactor is boring not dream theater the last thing you can say about them is boring. My favorite band ever my mistake for not making that clear

Why Trial of Tears?

I agree, singing not so great, but like the guitar work, and the keytar was cool, maybe be cool live, but way to long for my playlist.

The keytar was interesting.

I think you should definitely make a reaction to the Dream Theater's song "These Walls": It's a pretty heavy but melodic song with an unusually simple structure for DT. This is one of the few DT songs that I would recommend to those who would like to hear the best examples of their music, but not a very big fan of their "progressivity".
