It's sad how misunderstood tubbo's character is :(

Honestly, Tubbo is my favourite character on the server but so many people think that so badly of him. I've seen people call c!Tubbo selfish and a bad person for exiling c!Tommy (EVEN THOUGH HE WAS BASICALLY FORCED TO DO IT SO THAT L'MANBURG A.K.A. HIS HOME WOULDN'T GET DESTROYED AGAIN). There is so much hidden under the surface about c!Tubbo that many people don't get to see, instead ignoring him and only seeing "bad" things he has done

Tubbo's my favorite as well!! His character is very complex and people miss that a lot

I hate it when people said that t Tubbo is bad at lore streams. But honey, when he said "He said he wouldn't hurt me"(Pertaining to Wilbur). He sounded so broken and betrayed to a point that I felt that.

I’ve been desperately looking for Tubbo analysis videos and this one was just... *muah* chefs kiss. You managed to put all of my thoughts into one decently organized video and opened my eyes to some other aspects to his character. I hope you end up doing more videos like this, they’re really enjoyable and calming to listen to! I also hope Tubbo sees this lmao... sir ur character is so unintentionally interesting... pls stop saying ur character has no lore.... aaaAah

I'd love to hear your response periodically thru Tubbo's lore streams like his recent one with the nukes going missing and the dead man's button, how he is repressing his own suspicions that Ranboo is hiding things from him, that stream where he and Ranboo tried to fight the egg, etc.

Idk if I'll be able to make a video every lore stream, I might make a new one after a few as I don't want to jump the gun to what his character is feeling yet (as I've seem to have done in this very video about him putting more value into his own life. oops). Though I do do some Analysis type stuff on my Twitter and recently did some threads about the dead man switch and his tendency to ask others if he's allowed to feel things. Then again, I also tend to do a lot more "stan type" tweeting than actual analysis, so up to you lol. I will def make another video tho, just don't know when.

I know I already commented once but this is such a good analysis. I always saw it so dumb how people villanized c!Tubbo for exiling c!Tommy... it's literally the trolley problem. 1 person or 5 people. Tommy or L'manburg. ALSO DON'T GET ME STARTED ON HOW HE HAS BEEN MANIPULATED AND HOW HE VALUES HIS LIFE SO LITTLE NOW BECAUSE OF WHAT HE HAS GONE THROUGH, YET PEOPLE STILL THINK HE'S A SELFISH AND A BAD PERSON- smh people

Great analysis, you've done a very good job at capturing the essence of Tubbo's character (I would've probably added that part in his first stream of building Snowchester, where he mentions for a moment that he wants to talk to Schlatt again if possible, and then after that the thought that maybe Schlatt has changed in the afterlife, as shown by his questions towards Wilbur after the disc finale. Maybe that shows that Tubbo in some way misses and still sort of "likes" Schlatt even after what he put him through). Anyway that's all, overall it was a very enjoyable video to watch and I agreed with everything you said. Get this kid some therapy please

That's true! He mentions schlatt a couple of times asking if he's changed which really brings into question his overall feelings of the guy. I'm glad you enjoyed!

Genuinely love that you made this- no one gives tubbo and his character rhe hype it deserves. He, like anyone else on the servers, lore matters. AND OMFG! RHE TUBBO QUACKITY CONFRONTATION WILL FOREVER BE MY FAVORITE SENE EVER!!! And it was all improve, which just amazes me.

I love this so much. People make c!Tubbo seem like a villain because he was “manipulated” to exile c!Tommy.

This is extreme pog. I’m currently writing a fanfic with Tubbo as one of the main characters and this was super helpful to get a better feel for him. Thanks so much, you nailed it!

You've done Tubbo's character so much justice with this analysis video. You're incredibly underrated and I really enjoyed the video 😍 I feel that a very important moment that you forgot to mention however was the scene when Tubbo and Tommy were gonna be killed by dream and Tommy basically confessed to Tubbo saying that Tommy was the sidekick, not Tubbo and I just think hat was a really significant moment because Tubbo has had to bear so much responsibility for a long time and has been a lot more mature than Tommy although in a sense he was forced to grow up faster than what would be a healthy upbringing. I feel more than anything it showed that deep down Tommy's character can show some humility but also that Tubbo was always the "bigger man" to Tommy, not just a friend but somebody Tommy looked up to, like Wilbur before he went insane and I think Tommy needed Tubbo a lot more than Tubbo needed Tommy but Tubbo's better nature proved to be his downfall as he just couldn't ever let go of Tommy who was causing problem after problem, being a little shit breaking the laws of Lmanberg, betraying technoblade, literally saying to Tubbo in the courthouse that he discs were always more important to Tommy than Tubbo- I just feel like Tubbo's character is super underrated and that Tommy (in lore not irl) never deserved Tubbo. Oh also I love your voice. It's really soothing and pretty. Great video overall, you earned a sub 😊

ahhh this analysis is phenomenal! i agree with this so much, holy shit. im glad you brought up little details like tubbo being forced to decide whether or not wilbur should blow up lmanburg because stuff like that absolutely gets pushed 2 the side lol. the only nitpicky thing i have to say is that i think tommy called tubbo a yes man because he wanted to hear what tubbo actually thought of his plan to kill dream. tommy actively tries to get tubbo to talk about his emotions (the trip during the disc war) and may have accidently been more harsh than intended. other than that, this is incredible! awesome work :]

Another thing when new lmanburg was made , it was either tommy or tubbo but one of the two decided one rule being no fireworks im pretty sure , maybe im delusion but i think that was a rule

When you said he was used as a scapegoat I found it also slightly fitting, because his character is also canonically a goat as well.

This was a great video! I'd sorta be interested in an update now its been a few months. Tubbo's character doesn't get talked about much, but I think its very interesting. He is also my favourite character, so there. People often portray Tubbo as happy and bright, and maybe he was that once upon a time, but dark things have twisted his beliefs and actions about the world. Ranboo and Tubbo have talked about how they don't like the concept of separated lore and non-canon, so I'm gonna take the more chill streams they have as at least canon character behaviour, even if the actions and events don't stay. In that light, Tubbo has become pretty damn chaotic, if not dangerous at times. I'm interested in how this is reflected in his development. Like, the cookie fortress? He was hiding true intentions from Ranboo, he built it all up, he wanted to start... something. He viewed it as an extension of Snowchester, is he trying to create rivalry? But what are they protecting now? As Ranboo mentioned in the latest Wilbur stream, they've sorta given up on the fortress, and theres no one really left in Snowchester to protect apart from Michael, according to their perspective. The thing that gave Tubbo control, seems to no longer be in his control. Nukes lost, everyone's gone, a mansion left empty (and though he doesn't know and Ranboo doesn't remember, is still an unpaid debt [Lessons]). Ranboo isn't even fully there, taking a daily commute between the Artic commune and their house, but what does one expect from the man of many allegiances. How does Tubbo feel, in that empty place? Out of the loop? Lonely? Upset? Its a difficult situation, no wonder irl Tubbo doesn't want to stream much, how do you even resolve it?

I’m making an animatic mainly focused on tubbo so this really helps thanks!

I'm so grateful you made this video, because I joined fandom only a month ago and grew very fond of cc!Tubbo, I always wanted to know more about his character, but I don't quite have the time to watch all of the previous streams, so your video helped me a lot to understand what has already happened to c!Tubbo

The funny thing to me is the fact that I was literally just talking to a friend about how it sucks that I haven't seen any c!tubbo character analyses videos/video essays! Then, ten minutes later, I stumble right into this :) I think this is a very great overview of Tubbo's character throughout the entire plot. You bring up a lot of things that I haven't seen discussed a lot - him not having a house for the longest time, how horrible Schlatt was to him right in the election stream, etc. etc. It's very clear that you've put a lot of thought into this analysis - you just bring up so many things that a lot of people don't realize/notice about his character. (As soon as someone seriously brings up and discusses that c!Dream manipulated c!Tubbo as well, I immediately fall in love /p))

I am forever thankful that this video exists. That there are people who actually understand his character. The audio quality sucks but the material was worth watching til the end. December 2020 was the worst time to be a c!Tubbo fan. Constant pain and suffering.

I've been loving this arc!! I've been tweeting about it on my Twitter but I think it makes perfect sense for c!Tubbo to have built the outpost considering how paranoid he is about things going wrong, so he wants to keep an eye on las nevadas. Now c!quackity is asking for the walls to be taken down and he is refusing because he needs that safety and security. Tubbo's acting and improv have also been amazing and just once again shows how cool c!tubbo is. I also love love love him finally opening up a bit to c!ranboo, even if it was because he thought he would forget. Baby steps. I'm so excited to see how it continues.

Is there anywhere where I can get caught up on the entire lore in order. I’ve been getting bits and pieces. New to this whole lore and smp fandom I wanna see everything. Please help

WARNING: THIS COMMENT IS A MONSTER. GRAB SOME POPCORN OR SOMETHING IF YOU'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO TRY AND READ THIS MEGALODON. Also sharks are cool. I love Tubbo's character. His arcs are subtle compared to the more dynamic arcs taking place around him and more understated but the finesse of Tubbo's arcs is probably why he's my favourite. I mean take the yes man thing - establishing character moments include building things for Wilbur in L'Manburg in the beginning, handing over blaze rods when asked etc. Then it gets complicated with the election and you can literally see Tubbo's morals being called into question with Wilbur's descent as well as the fear that this whole situation is escalating outside of the realms that he is comfortable with. He has a massive internal conflict because he wants to do the right thing but is unable to make his own decision as to what that right thing really is. IT'S REALLY INTERESTING TO WATCH UNFOLDING IN THE BACKGROUND - CONFLICT IN CHARACTERS FOR THE WIN! This pitted alongside Wilbur's negative character arc and Tommy's positive is just...so freaking cool. The spy thing is just another yesman position but now this character trait is being exploited by two people at once. Both of them are telling Tubbo two different things and his decision making skills are ACTIVELY BELITTLED, even by Tommy though that's just because of the brash nature of Tommy's character (a really good foil to Tubbo in that regard). Then of course Wilbur brings his decision making skills to the fore after they've been crushed via several streams making Tubbo choose between what he has stated are his own thoughts and Wilbur's desire to blow the nation. Tubbo's increasing discomfort is used - which is neat - to bring forward his protectiveness - which is a directly contrasting trait to the selfish traits we have been shown in the first disc war etc. Tubbo adheres to the yesman position - this is not a backtrack of growth I don't think because characters adhere to their LIE when they are becoming aware of their TRUTH to highlight the struggle. Then Tubbo is made president - a decision which is then overturned in front of Tubbo BY THE MAN WHO MADE HIM PRESIDENT. And when Tubbo does try to do what he perceives is the right thing - he is villainised for it by everyone he knows. Which is ridiculous BUT it's a wonderful way to knock Tubbo's character away from his TRUTH - that his opinions matter - by extension - that he matters. The whole exile is like a freaking video in an of itself. You know what, I'm just gonna go away and make them rather than continue ranting forever but before I go, I just want to give a mention to the messed up stuff that comes out of Tubbo's character during the final disc confrontation. He says he's a pawn, that he doesn't matter, that it's about time he died. Tubbo's character is one huge inferiority complex which is reinforced time and time again by everyone including Tommy who clearly values Tubbo, at least by this point in the story, as more important than his precious discs. The presidency just served to further crush his self esteem to dust as he's given a position of importance and then is told where to put his opinions for the rest of his time in power. Dream even says that he's the worst president L'Manburg ever had. And to see his character take all this with absolutely no comeback is astonishing. Everything is internalised and the only time it comes out is in this moment with Tommy where Tubbo says that his life is forefeit. Then afterwards. Okay, I'm still going, I'm sorry. Afterwards, no one acknowledges that moment. The lack of acknowledgement, I feel, is just another way that Tubbo feels his opinions are made void, you know. I actually feel like ignoring THAT MOMENT IN PARTICULAR where Tubbo speaks up RE: HIS OWN FEELINGS ON HIS OWN DESTINY is like the straw that breaks the camels back so to speak. So what happens next? The boy builds NUKES which I feel are a projection of all this internalised madness that he has no way of actually acknowledging now without losing his mind. Watching the Dream SMP now - even with Ranboo around, though that relationship in and of itself is riddled with conflict (which is awesome but painful but awesome) - I WANT TUBBO TO SET OFF SOME NUKES. Not just as a test. I want him to blow something important so his character gets the cathartic release that he needs. Once that nuke goes off, I feel like Tubbo's character will let out a breath that he's been holding since the moment they were all killed in the final control room and who knows, maybe the others will start taking him seriously.

dont cancel me but i really dislike c!tommy, there is so much more he could have , everyones like oh its because he was manipulated, yes i understand that but he was a bad best friend, he could have helped his own situations
