My dream is to have my own brand, my own clothing line. Have a fashion company with people who cares about ethical or eco fashion. And I want it big, I want my business works internationally. I also have a dream to build a cat shelter for stray or feral cats. But my family always said that I should just work with conventional jobs. But I don't want that. I know my dreams. Even though sometimes I have doubt, because I haven't had the fund to start big, I start from zero. Also my degree is completely different, so I don't know where to start. And especially, I sometimes doubt because my family don't understand and support me. But I believe in my self. I believe I can live in my dreams. Thank you, Marie! Send lots of love and courage to all of you to stay believing in your dreams!

Being unrealistic is a form of negativity so 1.) Take the word unrealistic out of your vocabulary because many people have achieved unrealistic dreams thus making them realistic. or 2.) Don't tell people your dreams, so you don't have to hear their discouragement. Not everyone deserves to hear your dreams, especially if they aren't supportive.

I'm a singer/songwriter just starting out. This is my second year of doing Marie's B School. So many people, including my parents and friends, were worried when I decided I wanted to record my music. "There's so many musicians out there, so many great ones, you'll be lost in a sea of musicians who aren't making it!" Those were the concerns. But I decided to do it anyway. I just uploaded my first video to my KZread page and the encouragement so far has been so positive. I'm recording my next song next week!

Thank you for making this video..! I'm certainly one of those who have "Unrealistic dreams".. I dropped out of high school because of numerous tragic circumstances and dysfunction in my family life and had absolutely ZERO interest or ability to concentrate. There's a whole lot that has happened since the last time I have been in high school, but I feel I certainly have nothing to lose. I am now 37 years old and only recently felt what I believe to be my life's "calling".. I haven't felt ANY passion for any work for most of my life, but I recently watched a documentary series on frontline emergency room doctors, nurses and specialists filmed in the city where I live.. Needless to say, it hit home.. The sound of being a registered nurse sparked an energy in me and I've been looking into that path for a career and what it takes.. It certainly fits into the category of "Unrealistic dreams" for someone in my position.. It would take me about 7-8 years to accomplish this long term goal of mine and I certainly have strong doubts of my ability to do it.. Getting my high school diploma, which will take at least a year and a half, the prerequisites for the nursing program, which will take a year and a half to two years, and then seeing if I actually get accepted into a BSN nursing program, which is a 3-4 year program, full time.. If I do make it to that point and get accepted, other prerequisites are getting first-aid and CPR certified, getting a background check and getting up to date with immunizations.. 7-8 years for this journey, and that is IF I work diligently and am SUCCESSFUL.. If I fail anything along the way, it will take me longer.. I feel there is no other job which allows me to help others at their most vulnerable, receive an immense sense of gratitude doing it, while getting paid a good salary with good benefits, even if the shifts are 12 hours.. I have the utmost respect for everyone out there working on the frontlines of emergency healthcare.. Needless to say, the odds are stacked against me and I have STRONG doubts about my ability and motivation and my intelligence.. Am I being delusional.!?!? Just dreaming..?? I certainly don't have the time and money to waste, but I'm going to try.. The good thing is that I'm already implementing the steps outlined in this video and I can say without a doubt, that it is a positive force in my life.. Writing things down, EVERYTHING, from every day tasks to short and long term goals, I write them down so I don't forget, and can go back to when times are tough, I lose my sense of direction and am questioning my decisions and purpose.. To have a vision of what needs to be done, what steps are required, broken down individually, the realistic time it will take to accomplish, to be able to physically, psychologically and emotionally prepare and ACTUALLY take actions, make progress, and use that progress and fuel for perseverance and motivation.. In regards to #2.. The good thing is that I don't get too much negativity from others, but that's only because I don't hang around many people nowadays.. The negativity is coming from within myself, my doubts and fears of the unknown.. Time, energy and money wasted if I fail along the way.. Being able to pay the other bills while I embark on this journey.. Number 3: Flooding myself with positive examples.. I'm doing that even before I am in ANY position close to being accepted to a nursing program.. Watching KZread videos of others who have documented their journey through nursing school, their difficulties and what is expected and required.. What the exams are like, the workload, and reading required.. How to study.. People who have made it, people who have failed along their journey, for whatever reasons.. Removing the negative mentalities, but still being realistic about things.. Number 4: Reminding myself that if I don't spend the time, energy, and money to chase after my dreams, I will be spending a LOT of time working for someone else who is chasing their dreams.. To remind myself to live a life that is in line with my own values, a life which I feel is meaningful, full of purpose, which creates a positive, tangible change in others lives as well.. Instead of just working for a paycheck, living day-to-day, month-to-month, a mundane, boring, meaningless, unfulfilling life just worrying about bills and not being able to afford the things I want to do, or things I want to buy... Number 5: Taking action.. I'm glad to say that I'm just starting to take the first steps needed and will be taking it day by day to get it done.. Hopefully get it done.. It will be a long, lonely journey, but I have no other major distractions, at least right now, and nothing to lose.. Hoping to meet some good people along the way, maybe even a girlfriend.. =) Here's to getting out of dysfunctional lives and creating a better one..!! Good luck and work hard to chase those "Unrealistic Dreams" everyone..!!

I'm in a similar boat, what i've learned is that people who do many things are afraid if they commit to one they wont have time for the others. I'd suggest, write down the top 3 interests, Focus on being the best at the top 1 and make the other 2 weekend hobbies. Try this for a set amount of time like 3 months and see how it goes.

@thomas Here is an advice for you from my experiecne. I am a motorcyclist, writer, blogger, psychologist, jewellery designer and harcore gamer. I always assumed that there is no market for me. Until I created my business of starting a psychology research institute. where we catered kids and stuff, the main part comes here - because I had so many hobbies, I had learnt something about human emotions and business, so when people a[pproached me for their business I knew how to do it. and now my biggest source of income is business consultancy, why? because people saw me do so many things and yet create a successful business all by myself. They wanted to know how I did it. and now I am on the board of 4 companies :) :) and run my jewellery retail brand, and a psychosomatic institute and consult business house :) it all came back to me now. BTW - all of you who are wondering how I manage all of these and yet have time to comment of YT and shit. My wife and sister are part of my business too. So its not that difficult.

The only reason someone else thinks something is impossible or unrealistic is because THEY haven't done it. Never listen to other ppl who just don't know how to build a plan and problem solve toward a goal, no matter what it is. they won't get anywhere in life except to where they've already seen other ppl go already... which means they have no belief in themselves, and no faith!!! ... the REALITY is that there is ALWAYS a way, when there is true DESIRE behind a wish!!! and if you want to do something spectacular that YOU haven't done before, but you really want to, YOU deserve it, and you CAN!

Marie, I totally needed this video! It's like you read my mind. My goal that I've heard before is "unrealistic" from certain people is owning my own nutrition consulting business and having 300,000+ subscribers on KZread, not for the "fame", but for the ability to get my word out to that many viewers. I want to spread the word of nutrition as a soon-to-be Registered Dietitian. Things I've heard have been "owning your own business is a lot of work... most people can't do it" or "only a few dietitians out there have their own business, it's not a big area of the field because it doesn't make a lot of money unless you're REALLY famous" ... Kind of back handed comments, that seem like they're meant to save me from the misery of finding out for myself... But I'm not most people! I am one of few who WANTS it that bad. When you mentioned in your video, the questions to ask myself when someone said something negative about my "unrealistic dreams" I realized... those people aren't risk takers and they aren't who I look to for inspirational advice. Don't want to make this excessively long, so I'll stop here. Thanks Marie.

I can't tell what I'm dreaming off these days, because I chose a 'safe' path and invested a lot of time and money in that career. I'm a jack-of-all-trades. I can do a lot. I do a lot, learn a lot of different things. I'm resourceful. I chose a 'safe' path, something I was good at, but I didn't realize that extending myself in that area would not always be pleasant and it would cause me not to use much of my greatest strengths. So what now? This year will actually change a lot. I will not be changing careers because I have to be realistic, but it's possible to readjust the course and find something that matches what I can and like doing best.

my dream is to win a dancing contest that is held every year in my country. I've made up my mind to enter in 2018. It feels unrealistic because I've never danced in front of anyone before and because I am 28 years old now. This dance involves a lot of flexibility and acrobatics so I'm scared I'm too old to start but I've already started going to dance classes, yoga classes and training at home! I dream about entering this contest every night :)

My dream is to be an actor, film maker and have my own cartoon show. I'm working towards them all but sometimes it seems so far away and even though I often have doubts, I just can't stop dreaming and thinking about it. It seems so real in my mind that I often wonder when I'm going to catch up physically to what I see in my head!

I like the part of not giving a (you know what) about what other people think about your dreams. Anyway, its THEIR lack of ability and THEIR negativity and THEIR apprehension about it, not YOURS, so don't own their pessimism! I wish I had learned that years ago. better late than never, I guess. Thanks Marie for another beautiful video :)

My dream is to create a positive. ongoing and global movement for loving oneself and others. I remember standing in front of my mirror more than a year ago, thinking "I don't even like myself" - that moment was beyond painful. Now I think it's outrageous that every baby is born with the knowledge it is loveable and enough (have you ever smiled at a baby and seen it turn away thinking "I'm not good enough"? "Maybe I'm too ugly?" - sure that doesn't happen), yet as adults so many of us feel that pain, and fear. It's a totally twisted, wrong belief system that collapses when you look at it closer. This is why I want to share what I learned with as many people as I can reach. Yes sometimes I'm afraid - old fear of not being good enough/being a failure can creep back- but I am working on it step by step, e.g. building my own website, getting myself out of a low etc-

Thanks for this video, Marie. I've been watching MarieTV for years and it was a huge inspiration in me starting my own channel! I have some big dreams for my future, and your advice is awesome. It really comes down to not caring what any of the naysayers think, and living courageously in what I call the "expansive musts." It's doing what you must do, because it expands yourself and the world in ways that have never been seen before.
