Because a young daughter like that can be easily manipulated into doing things that could lead to her getting pregnant. As a father you have to be more protective of your daughter as they carry the consequences of sex far more so than boys. Not to mention girls carry trauma to a much higher extent than boys do. Double standards get a bad rep but there are more double standards in life than consistently applied ones.

This is just traumatic and makes your daughters feel they have to hide things because of the way the parents react. You talk to your children and help them establish boundaries as they grow and they will feel obligated to let you in as they grow vs this type of behavior Its just controlling and ultimately dehumanizing bc it makes young women vulnerable to predatory behavior because they've be harbored up without being taught how to distinguish what is comfortable for them vs what is new and "okay/tolerable" in that moment.

Nothing traumatic here. B4 yiu know it she will be pressured by her peers to do what lands her in teenage pregnancy because no parent drummed it into her memory what happens when one is not 'firm'. This is being firm. Do you see them hitting her? No. Just being firm. It's called tough love! Her mom is 'talking' and she still lied go her about Ricky! It's the teenager thing (lies). And don't say it requires patience because b4 you it, it's a bunny in the oven. Peer pressure is real! We got cunning predators out there!

@@nkoyondiokho4027 I think you're right, but being closeted off doesn't do all good. Parents who try their best are also only human, but not knowing what to expect in any sort of intimate or probably-leading-to-intimacy situation makes a girl vulnerable. I haven't kissed a boy ever nor have I ever dated one altho I have had crushes at nearly 19yo. My dad is the definition of overprotective tho I know he trusts me (he shows me it), just not with things out of my control. I have never dated anyone because I personally chose not to, because I'm christian and I don't fancy wasting time with relationships that won't last, but also because I get impossibly scared in situations I don't need to, but that I can't escape since I've been in college. I'm just saying, don't scare the kids out of being honest with you, or making them feel they are not trustworthy. Letting someone feel they are trusted is very empowering, and I'm speaking of experience. I don't do certain things when I know better because I know my dad trusts me, I know he does his best, and I wouldn't want to disappoint him. ❤❤

These parents aren’t even angry about the kiss, they’re mad about the dishonesty. In that initial moment, it is clear that mom was chilled about the kiss, it was the lie about who it was with. Frankly, I agree with the outrage of the parents.

You don't get to say "DAD!" ESPECIALLY if you know that you have lied about your social activities! Not even exposing a boyfriend is grounds for some type of punishment, i don't know about privacy, but yes, SOMETHING!
