And he's underselling it, he doesn't have MVP potential. He has GOAT potential. MVP is an absolute inevitability, injuries aside. The fun question is how many years before he's the MVP. I think at worst he gets one by year four. Per 36 numbers already: 25.7/12.8/4.3/4.2 blocks. If he gets 10% better each of the next two years and starts playing 36 min a year... his year 3 stats would be 31.09 pts, 15.49 rebs, 5.20 assists, 5.1 blocks. Nuts. If he stays health I think we're looking at a guy with Kareem numbers, 6 MVPs, 6 rings, 15 All NBA/defense type of stuff.

Those old series back when we had kawhi during his emergence were some of the best games of playoff basketball I’ve ever watched. That entire era of playoff basketball was gold.

I hated dre over the yrs... but I definitely wish he'd mentor Jeremy Sochan. We all know that's who the Spurs want him to be.

He needs to be traded immediately, Draymond mostly works because he has elite playmaking with elite defense, and the Spurs tried to get him there but his confidence and understanding of the game isnt there. Teams have now decided to completly leave him open to double Victor. Unacceptable, only players they should keep is tre jones as a backup and Vassel. Everyone else can go

I understand where shaq is coming from with this statement. As far as skillset for his size and length then yes. But play style totally different. I actually think the better comparison would be Bol and Chet. Now both Chet and Wemby is clearly superior to Bol imo but there are similarities to the things they can do given their physical build but play style Bol is more closer to Chet than Wemby. Just my opinion.

The defense for the spurs it is 24th only when wemby its not on the dloor. When he is on the floor i think is like 10th. So he does makes a huge difference

The spurs are actually 30th when Wemby is not on the floor and are 6th when he is on the floor. But they have the spurs ranked at 24th defense overall.

Rudy is on the #1 defense but the twolves are still #4 when hes not on the floor. Rudy only moves the needle by 3 places. Hard to deny Wemby when his impact is clearly in a different universe.

DPOY is a player award, not a team award.

Chet Holmgren is who he will be 5 years from now. Victor Wembanyama will be like Kevin Durant, Rudy Gobert, and Anthony Davis and potential for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar! He has the biggest bag of skills than any Player in a long time. Wembanyama will win Defensive Player of the year easily. 5 + blocks per game in his sleep. When he improves i can see video game type of blocks per game such as 15+

Defense is not just one on one even though Victor can guard 1-5. He also makes players think about shot around the basket and parameter. Draymond, you never ever could do that.

I like this version of Draymond Green as opposed to the A hole hot head i see portrayed on the court . Not to say he isnt important contributor to his team

I wouldn’t put him as the DPOY of the year either but logically it makes no sense to blame him that the team is so bad on defense with him off the court that the teams overall defensive rating falls down so bad. We all know the stats with him on the floor vs not. I would probably still rather have someone like Giannis that can guard better on the perimeter but even that is tough to say since Wemby can move his feet aswell but can cover even more space then Giannis even if he lacks in foot speed. If Rudy Gobert is the comp then 1000% give me Wemby. I always prefer someone that can guard in multiple ways. Wemby is probably in the top 2-3 on that list.
