When he said “one might assume she was dead” about his dead wife… I couldn’t help but cry on what a women Drax lost, and how blessed and beautiful his wife was. I was engorged as well. Luckiest man in the universe.

maybe that's the proton cannon that we never had the chance to see being used.

I understand turning him into the comic relief made sense because audiences found him pretty funny in the first movie, but Drax works better when the comedy comes from him taking the situations extremelly serious, not because he is some sort of clown.

At what price? Drax in the comics was a construct whose sole purpose is to destroy Thanos. Mantis... is just there. Making them alien is a good idea; but making them jokes is not, especially with the brand synergy.
