Hi everyone! I decided to try out Dip Pens for the first time! It was so interesting to try a few of the different pen nibs and I definitely think I'll try to use them again in the future. Lots of fun drawing possibilities! Let me know what you think - and also please let me know of any other art supplies you would like to see me try. Thank you so much for the continued amazing support! I hope you're all having a lovely day. :) -Chris

There are glow in the dark inks for dip pens that look incredible on dark paper. You might also look into glass dip pens, they’re easier to clean and come in a ton of really beautiful designs.
Me: watches this video. Feels inspired to draw. Realize i have no talent. Go To to the shower and start crying. You are really talented. Been here since 50k. If you respond to this I Will literally start crying. I hope you get to 1 million subs soon!

Anima kivin just start to Draw. Watch beginner tutorial. Draw. Every day a little. Start from simple shapes, cubes, cylinders. Nobody has any magic talent. Ask Chris how many years he was training, learning and creating. Don't cry. Draw. I am very very early beginner, and I am over 50. I draw 4 months now, every day. I already got commissions to draw something. There is no magic. Just work, which is a pleasure anyway! Don't wait. Take a pencil, printer paper and draw some lines, long and short, draw some squares, ellipses, try some shading, then watch some tutorial. Look at my Instagram to see how you will draw after few months (@tomdraug) - probably way better than me, because I am much older, I and I really have no talent :)

Hey, thank you so much for the long term support! I promise you can draw too. It takes time, but with every drawing you work on you will improve your ability. It really works. I've tried to draw consistently for about 6 years now, and this process really helped me. Keep practicing - I know you can do it. :) Wishing you lots of support! And thank you again!!

The secret is, there is no talent. Drawing talent is just hundreds of hours of drawing lines.
Please, for the love of god, the next time you use this, record also just the bare sound of the pen, it's so relaxing and mesmerizing, i would love it!
Dude! You’re just starting with these pens and the artwork is gorgeous! Is there any tool you seriously can’t use?! You’re too good at this!!

Wow, thank you so much!! :D That's very kind.
I LOVE dip pens! You are right about so many possibilities with them. I have to admit that I love fountain pens as well. Dip pens and fountain pens feel so nice in my hand and better than the old Bic or ball point pens do. For Christmas I got a glass dip pen and have had a lot of fun with it as well. Using these different pens is very relaxing to me, give me a chance to slow down and really enjoy the process of drawing.
I should get that
Your hatching is beautiful. It puts my shoddy scribbles into perspective.
I use the exact same things they are amazing
Love the final outcome and awesome work on using the cheaper supplies. It shows what can be achieved without breaking the bank. Can't wait to see you do more. Phoenix and Tiger classic Asian tattoo designs
Dip pens are by far my favorite medium. Followed by graphite pencils. It can be difficult, but if done right, it has the most beautiful look to it. In fact I was in the middle of my first complete project with it when you uploaded this. What a coincidence!

I wish I could use the DIP Pens they aren’t only cool but seem to work well! The colors look so smooth too!

Before I used them I'd imagined they'd feel a lot scratchier on the paper, but I was so impressed with how well they worked. Especially the crown and mapping nibs. :) Can't wait to use them again sometime soon!

Beautiful work, as always, Chris! You've really inspired me to work on my own art more and develop my techniques. Thank you for sharing your work with us!
Soooo satisfying watching you use those dip pens!! The sketch was beautiful and the inking with the dip pens made it look stunning! Keep up the fantastic work Chris!! Sending love and approval from California! :)
I got a set of these for one of my courses on pen & ink so I've not used them before, once i nail down the lesson on this course, I'll have a go at this. Thanks again Chris for ypur videos. Speed drawings are usually very hard to follow for me but i will get the hang of them at some point ☺
Woah, the last drawing I did was of a rose.. which I did with India ink! I'm hoping to get back into drawing, so it's great to see videos like these and get inspired!
Very nice! Can't wait to see you work on a project with the dip pens and something with color!

I just tried drawing with a dip pen myself today, and it was the best traditional drawing experience I’ve ever had! Getting pressure sensitivity and the sounds the nib makes are so satisfying ♡ I just feel like a wizard when drawing now! XD

Wow, this is your first time?? It looks awesome! Maybe you should try the g-nibs. You can handle the thickness of the line really well with them, though you should practice it a bit first.
Fantastic........and beautiful!

Who put a thumbs down? This was a great vid Chris!! I love the line work you do! Thanks again!
I remember the first week after using a dip pen for writing, I decided to swear to myself that I would always have ink on my fingers to remind myself what I use and to remind others of what I use for writing
You did a great job. Nice way to explain.
You did amazing for your first time Chris! :)

Awesome video as always Chris! Also I think this would be a cool tattoo with the rose in red and with a bright blue feather
I would love to see a drawing of Trico (The Last Guardian). I feel like the dip pens could work, or the copic markers. There is so much fine detail in Trico and the environments you explore in that game, and I get the feeling you could capture these very well with your styles and fantastic artistic skills! Absolutely adore your videos, too. I'm glad I found you :)
Awsome hachura skills :O
Awesome
Love you Chris❤️
A good recommendation: use white light when drawing and making videos, it gives good view on metallic objects like the nibs of dip pens 😊

Lovley artwork Chris! I tried that back in grade school and I hated when the pen would solash on my paper. A thing I suggest you trying is wooden chalk and some cheap pencil challanges. using Steadler or Maped colored pencils:)

Finally! When I saw the title, I immediately knew that this was going to be an awesome video! Ink is also one of my favourite mediums, too, and it would be very nice if I could see you using it more. It works perfectly with watercolors, and it can be used as a black paint, too. I've also found a chinese brand which is completely water-soluble, and that could be used alongside with alcohol-based markers. I'd recommend giving it a try, if you're interested.

Are you sure its your first time because it looks awesome!
Really liked this. I use Waterman ink. I'm yet to use other types. Great video, thank you.
Beautiful!!!! Don't know if you figured this out already...since this video is old...but you should try to take a brush and water to the wet ink before it dries. You can get some fantastic shadows and shading with that technique . You then can even add light watercolor washes on top of that!!! .......of course make sure you ink is waterproof!!!
Perfect.

Hey LethalChris i think you should try a glass dip pen i got one a while back and its really fun to draw with but i will say that you have to make sure to clean it right after your done drawing because the ink dried up really fast on my glass dip pen.
Awesome! Would love to see this done in colored inks

You have a very intricate and detailed style of drawing and coloring. As a regular viewer of this channel, my only critique is that we lose the beauty of your drawings and paintings with the lighting setup that you currently have. If it is at all possible, could you invest in a brighter and whiter lighting setup so that it would exhibit your drawing videos in a much more enhanced way to your viewers. I certainly mean no offense whatsoever to your current set up, especially if that is what you can currently afford. I just feel that from one artist to another, it's always nice to have some honest critique now and again. Keep making these beautiful drawings and hopefully in the future we can see them much more clearly. Thank you so much for everything!
What if you tried making your own materials? (For example, painting with coffee and orange juice, or creating a powdery pastel-like tool with coals, or the color left over from soaking wood or dirt in water for a while. You get the idea.) I feel like it would make for a very interesting video, especially if you take us through your process of creating your materials. Thanks for taking the time to read this, regards Raaghav S.
I love your art and how you continue to experiment with it. I have been working on my art skills and really look up to you as inspiration. I would be honored if you could give me some tips on learning things in art, whether in a video or a reply.
Hello LethalChris drawing. I,ve drawn my very first scène of a grave yard. I am gonna work it out and then ink it. I found my dip pen. I got it from alliexpress for 2,38. I bought 2 sets,a small sketchbook whit brown paper,a mechanical pencil and red and blue lead. Good luck on inktober if you are participating this year. I wanna try to participate. Have fun whit the dip pen. 😁👍🏽👋🏾🎨👩🎨

Hey Chris, just wondering, have you ever used a fountain pen for drawing? Because I recently bought some new ink to test on two of my fountain pens, and I drew with the fountain pen, and overall, I'm pretty impressed by the fountain pen being a pretty good drawing instrument.
Can you make a dragon with these pens? That would look so cool!
