It would be perfect because luffy was based around the monkey king so it would just make so much sense. “ and I know this will never happen I just think it makes sense for this person to draw pass his forms to make him a monkey I also know it is his peak so Gear 5th will most likely stay the same way I just think the design and idea makes sense to Luffys upbringing as a character. “ Luffy was based on the monkey king that’s why ODA decided to pick Monkey in his name that he said in an SBS in the manga for those who were wondering and He was also inspired by Goku when ODA was writing the story of One Piece)

7 and 8 can really be the canonic ones bro, look like variants of the gear 5th, the sun devil nika looks like a combination of gear 5 and 2 at the same time, looks overpowered but deadly as hell

I'd say rather than alternate forms, they'd be different variations of the same form: Gear 5th - Sun God Nika Gear 5th - Calm of the Storm Gear 5th - Monkey King Gear 5th - Raging Red Dwarf Devil Gear 5th - Faint Form

In a way this idea of higher gears above five does make sense. Since Luffys devil fruit is meant to make ones imagination into a reality, so if Luffy imagined a higher form it could be possible.

Dude gear 7 would make so much sense seeing as though the Nola fruit contains qualities from all fruit types making it so he doesn’t just transform into sun god but also a monkey type span

I do find these very interesting. How I imagine it would go is within his " Zoanification " Gear 5 is like his Hybrid form. Gear 6 and 8 are branch iterations of the hybrid form while Gear 7 is his Full Zoan Transformation , 6 and 8 focus on particular abilities he has honed before. Gear 6 being named Sky God: Nika not just in Homage to Enel but also because he would be harnessing the power of the Sky. Gear 8 being named Sun Devil: Nika is perfect, having focus on having a Gear 2 like physical status and having a fire like move set in Homage to Ace and his Hawk and Rock attacks.

I could maybe see him using gear 2 during gear 5 maybe? I don’t think so since the heart bears at a certain pace, creating the beats of liberation, but if he were to do so I think that would likely be the most likely route to do so.

Luffy Allie’s find out that the god of the universe/ multiverse was considering with this powerful person that luffy defeated and is planning to destroy everything as they know it’s , luffy and his forces of good and the god of everything and the devils and corrupted angels , these people are like nothing they ever felt they are immensely powerful, and the only way for for luffy and allies to do it is to ascend to a new plain of existence and by doing this luffy has to permanently transform into pure energy being freely able to do anything and manipulate anything he wants and with this they are finally able to do it while luffy becomes the new god of the multiverse and his allies become the new bevils and angel’s and Demi gods and gods , the end I would add more but this took a while

thats kinda how it works tho tbh, gear second is mostly for speed, 3rd is for inflation and power which he can use freely in g5, and 4th is for flight, power, and armament hardening, which call all be used in gear 5
