First time doing this! Drawing a horse with a white colored pencil crayon. It was quite tricky to shade from light to dark as opposed from dark to light.

What brand of colored pencil are you using? I recently picked up this technique and my Pentel colored pencil isnt letting me achieve the brightness i see in your drawing!

+Emily Says Meow Because when holding a dry drawing medium in this position there's a short stroke range which is olso stiff and not fluent and slows potential of getting more free, better in drawing and becoming professional. When holding a pencil or choarcal between tumb and index finger, index finger should lay parallel with the work surface and try stroking a line from knuckle and even better from an elbow. Artist should draw not write. I hope this answer was enough and understandable. Cheers

+Alisa Burzić There is not a wrong and right way to hold a pencil. I hold the pencil the same way as the person in the video and I have no problems with it. If I hold it any other way my hand becomes extremely sore and uncomfortable. Just do what you feel more comfortable with. Plus, this person has almost half a million subscribers so I don't think that the way they hold the pencil is holding them down in any way :)
