in jewish tradition we will typically put a glass (most commonly a bottle) into/under a bag and then step on it (it has a ritual significance but its not relevant rn) and i really hope she found a way to put the gnome in the bottle, the bag, or both. Its gonna be when hes least expecting it and im excited to hear about it

the drawtectives folder one is so perfect Julia talking about a project she's working on, Nathan eagerly listening , turning to give her his full attention, and Julia so naturally, so casually, flashing the cover and blasting Nathan directly in the face with gnome it's wonderful that she planned for this circumstance and that it played out perfectly. it's completely feasible that Julia would be working on another work project while streaming, thus requiring a folder! not suspicious at all! of course Nathan would eagerly turn to see what Julia was working on as a good friend would!! and of course Julia could count on both those things being a given!

I love both the joke, but also how GAME Nathan is. In a sense he's the perfect target because he doesn't let his guard down because 'haha I'll paly along with the joke' but because it simply seems to be in his nature to be trusting and supportive. And playing with that angle makes it all the funnier 😁

The gnome is Nathan's personal rick roll and i love it

My favourite part of this is that, even though Nathan is showing it off, the letter wasn't for content. Julia fully sent that knowing that he will be the only one who sees it. Even if Nathan didn't bring it up, Julia would still have succeded in her bit.

Karina's "he doesn't know" at the end has me thinking maybe the gnome is in Drawtectives season 3 since she's been assisting with some assets

I hope that season 3 of drawtectives has hidden gnomes in each episode. Like little Easter eggs for all of us.

I love that the SECOND Julia saw the horrendous gnome, she instantly knew who she would send it to. I fully believe she committed to it being a months long bit right then and there, like Cassandra foreseeing the downfall of Troy, if the city of Troy was instead called Nathan

I think what gets me the most is the fact that the moment Julia saw that pic, her immediate reaction was to troll Nathan with it, endlessly. Truly an icon.

This reminds me of something that I did in high school where I kept sending my friend a picture of Anomalocaris. It started with emails, then he blocked my email so I got other people to email it to him for me. It kept getting more elaborate until I printed out dozens of the picture and handed them out to people all over school telling them to give it to him.

Coming back months later I can now say the thing I love most about this whole bit Julia does is because she's usually working really hard whenever, wherever that when she does wanna cash in the faith Nathan has in her by labeling something 'work thing' Nathan will fully believe her and get the full force of the gnome.

$30 to mail someone a printed image of a horrible gnome that's dedication, that's commitment to the bit

Okay, but hear me out though. There's got to be some sort of company that does custom stamps for like, mailing letters and stuff, right? Get a gnome stamp to send Nathan something with like, way too many gnome stamps. I also recommend a pop-out gnome thank you card, a gnome wax seal stampy thingy, gnome wrapping paper, a gnome wallscroll, and a gnome stamp that like you use to make custom cards. ...OH MY GOD YOU COULD EMBOSS A GNOME ONTO SOMETHING!!!
