Your images are amazing. I’m just grateful that you are doing videos on KZread, long or short. However, I would certainly enjoy watching you draw for longer.

😀 Thank you for your motivating feedback 👍🖋️
Christmas has come early for us all, with these great tutorials. I really like the way you show us in real time the technique(s) and in the end a quick time lapse showing what is possible. So many other youtubers just post time lapse videos with no instructions or explanations. I'm looking forward to the next video. I'm quite happy with my sketching ability but it's getting nice effects, shading and textures with watercolour paints that I have problems with. So any videos on painting tips would be very much appreciated. Thank you so much 🙏

Martin, such a nice surprise. It is such an honor for you to take your time to use these old tools of mine. I enjoyed them for many years in the1960’s and later depending on when I purchased them…

Hello Martin, it is just pure pleasure to follow your new, exiting, living and also funny You Tube channel ! Your explanations are just what I (and I guess all your followers) are waiting for. Explanations, tips, how to and sense of humor. In a next one, I'd be glad to have some lights on your watercolor 's choice (Santa Claus is waiting for my wish list and since I'm only 72 I still strongly believe "He" exists 😊 Keep on teaching us and many, many, many ... many THANKS for the time spent:)
I'm off to watch more and hopefully I'll find a recommendation for where to start on what dip pen to start with because it seems the choices are endless. Then I get lost in the reviews and choices and end up with none.😂 I do like the way the vintage ones look as far as skinny those are always my favorite pens.

A good starting point could be to choose different steel nibs made by Brause. I use “ “Brause 150066B” (amazon) very flexible nibs!
I have some of these old nib holders, now nearly 50 years old. I’ve moved to the disposal style, but you have me thinking I will take the dust off and use them once more! Thanks Martin

Amazing work Mr. Lachmair! I really appreciate the time you take to teach us your technique. I would like to try this. On another note, I haven't used the Koh-I-Noor Rapidiograph Ink pens in a long time. I do have a collection of some in the garage cabinet. Thanks again!

As an older person, I learned joined-up writing in school with a classic dip pen. I've used them through the years and love the effects one can achieve. For me, you can do the videos exactly as it suits you: I enjoy watching. 😊

Great! Thank you very much for your helpful feedback! Greetings from Austria.
Martin, your way of drawing is unique. There are lots of artists who do line work on social media, however yours just stands out from the crowd. Your use of black shadow placement & sketching method. I don't know, it's just different. I would love to be able to sketch like you. I would love to see you draw a longer easy urban scene in real time . I reckon you could get to a hundred thousand followers before Christmas :) From a fan in Australia

You make it look so easy. I have several dip pens, and a glass dip pen too. But I find that they get cought in the watercolor Paper a lot so i prefer my fountan pens instead, but I need to try again.

Me encanta tu estilo!!!!!!!! Y la pluma normal ? Usas ? No se hace pesado estar mojando el plumín ? No coge mucha tinta y haré manchas ? Solo que tú eres un maestro con mucha práctica..
✒️thank you.
Love your work!!!! Thank you for the videos. May I ask what nib you used on the trees and the spatter? Thanks again

As I’ve stated before very well done. I appreciate your art. The buildings you draw, do you use a pencil beforehand to lay out your scenes, or just the building lines going vertically for a guide? Also the buildings, I assume are from your imagination or are they just embellished versions of buildings? Either way I look forward to more tutorials…..thank you again Martin
I love your work! Do you draw from memory and create every composition or from photos?

Hi Paula, mostly from fantasy and imagination, from time to time I do studies from real architecture. Greetings, Martin.
We need more videos
I notice you're doing the ink first, is this the right way? Because I do watercolors and was thinking of adding the ink after. When you use both do you make your shadows with the watercolor or the ink? Or is all that personal preference?
@MartinLachmairArt
3 ай бұрын
Hi, good question: Personally I am more a draftsman than a painter. So I finish first the linework, sometimes I do the shadows with diluted ink as well, sometimes the shadows are in the end painted with black watercolor.
