There's no time like the present- you don't need anything fancy to make good digital art. I know absolutely insane artists who use Ibis Paint and their finger on their phone!

Yes I use myself as reference all the time!! Sometimes just posing Infront of that mirror is not doing it so I take pictures

sometimes I use 3d model poser in Clip Studio for pose reference since I don't like looking at myself in the mirror, but I use my own hand for hand poses

21:45 this is a interesting discussion because in painting class my professor talked about how the best thing you want to do for your art is getting them to look at it for as long as you can. Essentially captivating them and one of the ways he mentioned is allowing the piece to have a sense of mystery or meaning to it. Like a story behind it that the audience had to figure out

If I can´t find a good reference I usually strike the pose in a mirror and take a picture of myself lol when I'm drawing hands it's faster for me to look at my own than to search for reference, so I totally get you

i have a phone arm holding my phone, and i try to include some of the background in the shot, i crop it out while editting

HI i was typing the long comment but the my chrome exited out on itself but its whatever anyways i love the drawing. its so good. I love the angle that your showing us as well personally i like to see this kind of perspective than a straight up speedpaint because its much more satisfying and i can see the magic from the weilders hands . i also think that the advice to draw with meaning is not good too, i rather draw because i want to make something pretty. ive got a question for you now do you like peanut butter? cause i basically ate a whole jar of peanut butter in 2 days great drawing today

Lauren, why do you, as a digital artist, show yourself working on your tablet display, rather than just capture the screen? You have a lovely hand showing, ;) but it would be more useful to show the process. _IMO..._ Here, it doesn't matter that much, since you're just "doodling" while talking, but still...

hi kevin! this form of recording my hand as a digital artist is known is a "draw with me." the intention is to help the viewer feel like we're drawing 'together' in a creative space, rather than simply watching my screen as i work. and also this is not a doodle.. this is fully finished commissioned work
