Hi Raya! I'm old enough to be your mom: I was 24 when you were born! 😊 I've been watching yours and Louis' videos. I'm also an ESL teacher, and have taught ESL to kids and adults. I'm about to start a new teaching position working with refugees and immigrants. I'm for sure going to try to use this video in my classroom because it shows so well the struggle to learn English and become a part of the U.S. You have such a lovely heart and such a talent for filmmaking as well! It must have been so extremely hard to not see your mom and das for such a long time, especially as a child. Love that you always wanted to have a good impact to the world and now you inspire so many people with your way of living and sending love to your community. ❤️

I love this! This is exactly why I love travel and what I hope to do in my travels! I think travel can open people up to being more open, loving and understanding with each other once they see how everyone lives in reality as opposed to the news or tv.

+ohlaf2 I'm Bulgarian (in the European Union) so I only paid $5,000 per year. Significantly better than the $50,000 that NYU was charging..

Very cool, Raya! I can 100% relate to your life, moving 9 times, jumping around schools, waitressing/bartending in London to afford travel and finally taking that leap and then getting into vlogging. Traveling is the best best educator and way of life in my opinion. The only difference is I travel alone, I'm such an introvert but I would love to meet you someday

Very cool Raya! I moved 15 times before I graduated from high school, that included four countries and 12 schools...I completely understand the "not fitting in" part. It's not even really about not living in the same place for very long, it's just that life looks different to a global nomad. People always ask me if I liked the way I grew up and I always say that it made me who I am now, it has been an amazing life so far. Keep up the good work!

I completely understand your loneliness growing up. I went to 10 different elementary schools. I kept bouncing back and forth from LA and Guatemala. Every time we would move back to LA I would always have to take ESL classes and I was sometimes treated like I was an idiot because I didn't understand my teachers. Language has never been my strength 😔

This made me shed a tear! You're so lovely, and so inspiring!

My first job was a babysitter at 11. Then got a "real" job at a coffee shop when I was 13. I don't think you can do that anymore though. That was in the 90s! But there ARE ways to make money....for instance my niece will clean my house for money.
