Jeff Bridges asking Evan Peters about something positive about his experience on Dahmer is a great moment to me. You can tell he sees the affect the role still has on him, and by asking that it seems to be his way of trying to help him find some kind of light from what was clearly a dark experience.

gen question sorry if its weird..but if Evan playing that horrible character with the messed up storyline line the difference being it actually happened irl why did he choose to go forward with it? I feel bad but I'd understand and empathise with how he's feeling if it was fiction? is that crazy
@yetibeardson1168

@@zara7302 I mean he wouldn't have known before hand if it would affect him or how to what degree. Sure it's fiction and not real, but you're still saying and doing things that are horrible. Over and over again due to multiple takes and whatnot. I think some actors are just better at leaving the work st work verses some that have a hard time not letting it get in their head. What he was portraying wasn't real in the sense he never really did it, but that doesn't change the emotional aspect.

This is why trauma is so devastating. When you are triggered or have a flashback to a traumatic event, your body doesn't know that that same thing isn't actually happening NOW. It takes much self-awareness and effort and energy to bring yourself into the real, present moment and act/react accordingly. Read 'The Body Keeps the Score' by Bessel van Der Kolk
Damn, you can see it all over Evan's face and in his eyes. That role took a toll on him. Hope he finds some catharsis from the experience.
Evan's acting is on another level of intensity which makes him one of the most mesmerising actors of his generation but also can affect him too much. Other actors clearly recognized it as well.
