before you start celebrating go watch tape from any game he played in last year. The guy has an awesome body for a QB but he is terrible at playing the position. All he is going to contribute to the patriots is 4 wasted years and a future 6th rounder we get when we trade him to some other teams practice squad.

Any QB we picked would sit a year anyway. So why not grab the best available PLAYER and generational talent at the position and have him be a franchise guy while he grows and then attempt the grab a better QB later or next draft. QB’s are ALWAYS available these days via trade and FA. I just get a “Mac Jones without the accomplishments” vibe. And YES IF MAYE BECOMES THE SAVIOR ILL GLADLY OWN MY OPINION AND BE WRONG. I just don’t think I am. We have 3 years to find out if this pick will set us back just like Mac’s did. Robert Kraft must be planning on living to 100 years old to see another chip at this rate.

Mahomes' complete % average is 66.5 career. Maye has thrown more td's than hes thrown ints and his % isnt much worse. He's 21 and has a high ceiling. It's not trash.

We have an opportunity to grab one of the greatest WR prospects ever and you pass for DRAKE MAYE. They just settled for whatever QB was next best when they could’ve got the second best player in the draft and find another solution at QB or try out Brisset a year.

Besides his terrible acuracy his real problem is how slow he is in the mental aspect of football. He was dead last among all division one QBs at geting through his reads and getting rid of the football. No prospect that slow has ever gone on to succeed in the NFL.

Mac Jones wasn't the problem Bill refusing to put high-end weapons around him and getting a proper offensive coaching staff ruined him

Wolf and Mayo now need to explain how their coaching is so much better then the coaching that he has already had that they can fix how slow he reads a defense. (he was the slowest QB in all of division one when it came to geting through his reads and getting rid of the ball. Is their supperior coaching going to get him to stop throwing a third of his passess behind the receivers but. Will it stop him froim skipping the ball to his receivers or throwing it over their heads. I do not drink but that pick is enough to make me start. It would have been better if we had just given this pick to anpother teaM. iT WOULD NOT HAVE SET US BACK AS FAR.. The next four years are going to suck so hard.

That is why four wasted years hurts so bad. Maybe we will cut him in two and we can start fixing things earlier. or atleast with Maye as QB we are going to have a lot of top 10 picks to improve the rest of the team. Always a silver lining.

If Maye succedes it will be the first time in NFL history that a QB prospect who was the slowest in all of divission one football at geting through his reads and throwing the ball went on to be a franchise QB.

Grade F- only because there is no lower grade. Williams went #1 at 6 foot 1 iif Maye was 6 foot 1 he would not be drafted in the first four rounds. I do not care that he is 6foot 4. The guy sucks at playing quarterback and that is all that matters.

If I was Coach Mayo or Wolf I would be renting not buying. There is no way their job survives that pick. It is just a matter of how many years Craft is patient for before cutting them loose and bringing in a new regime who hopefuly have a freacking clue how to build a frachise. After this debackle no one should ever give BB a hard time about his draft picks. We had the third over all pick in one of the most talent ridden drafts in years and all we came away with was Maye!
