You can't support the idea that drug addiction is an illness while also downplaying someone's stay at a rehab. There are addicts who hit bottom and work til the end to fight for sobriety and ones who will never find a bottom low enough. Plus everything in between. It's not about the choice, but what led to that choice.

John Wick he said to Cudi, who has suffered from severe depression for most of his life, that he just goes through phases. In a world where we now emphasize mental health more than anything, I still don’t understand how trying to invalidate someone’s legitimate suicidal urges is okay. This was also made while Cudi was in a rehab center. I’m not a proponent of saying someone went too far, but Drake should in no way say someone went too far on him. This is called karma. But Drake, much like Taylor Swift who also has multiple people write songs for/with him that are only about one or two things, plays victim. Even when it’s clear he’s not innocent.

Watching this again after a year, and Anthony mentions Push using the story of OJ beat as a bad thing, but I think it was incredibly smart. The song is about blackness and is well known for that association. It adds to the bars about Drake's insecurities over racial uncertainties. Just another jab, and if he used a beat with no connotation you don't get that extra hit

It's up there with "Superbad", "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" and "This Is the End" (I'm talking bout comedies I love to watch stoned) I also love to watch "Funny People" w Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Aubrey Plaza, Jonah Hill and that Ramona's boyfriend actor while high, but that movie is both hilaious and sad. And it also has hilarious RZA and Eminem And last but not least something abstract like David Lynch stuff ("Mulholland Dr." "Lost Highway", "INLAND EMPIRE", "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with me"). He's my favorite director even when I'm sober so when I get high I just enjoy all this fucked up shit even more. Also I can recommend "Toad Road". It's a phenomenal independent movie where teenagers are high all the time
