Dragons Forever: One of Jackie Chan’s Best?

Ойын-сауық

In the mid-eighties, Jackie Chan was the biggest star in Asia. After failing to break-out like Bruce Lee in the North American market, he focused on Asia, with his film Police Story making him one of the biggest box office draws of his day. At the same time, Chan was frequently working with two other action stars, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, with whom he had been raised at the brutal Peking Opera School. Their movies, Project A and Wheels on Meals, where big hits, but 1988’s Dragons Forever was the breaking point for their relationship, with them never again headlining a film together. What happened? We dig into it in this special episode of Reel Action, written, narrated and edited by E.J. Tangonan.

It's kinda sad there's so few reaction channels that cover true Jackie Chan classics like this. All they ever react to are his inferior Rush Hour movies 😂 Movies like this, Project A, the Armor of God movies and Wheels on Meals is a must watch and need more exposure. Even Sammo movies like Pedicab Driver, Millionaire Express co-starring Yuen Biao, Knockabout and Eastern Condors are great.

'a capion? campion' (not sure what he said) the one on vhs and all the newer release he was dubbed over and unenthusiastically says 'a karate teacher' hahah

I remember I disliked this movie as a kid because of how weak Jackie looked compared to other 2 guys. Also it did not help that my dad did taekwondo and I could tell even then when someone does not know how to kick and Jackie is not good at kicking. I am guessing that is why he never did it much in his movies and he used doubles when there were more kicks involved. I think this is the movie where he kicked the most.
