Dragons Fight Over Jaw-Dropping Furniture Business | Dragons’ Den

Ойын-сауық

Next into The Den is the Dutch designer and founder, Robert Milder, he's pitching Van De Sant's, a designer of sustainable furniture made from ocean-bound plastics, but which Dragon can snag the deal?

Straight up equity investment "silent partner" "Angel investor" putting up money with no input would be appropriate to go on actual market value on a company. However when you are investing and also providing resources time and effort, a dragon actually provides a lot of worth and value so that naturally gets priced in to the deal. You could own 100% of a small pond worth £2000 current value, but own 80% of an ocean valued at £1,000,000 what would you rather have? This is what a lot of entrepreneurs forget when they walk away from a deal. Sometimes they are right to, but sometimes I think some may think in hindsight wish they took the deal.

According to Wikipedia, Jenny actually makes a slightly above-average number of investments -- an average of 0.41 investments per episode, when the average is 0.38. Duncan Bannatyne only made 0.33 investments per episode and nobody complains about him. But I think that what skews perception of Jenny is that, in her first series, she made 9 investments but in her second series, she only made three investments across 15 episodes. I'd be interested to see stats on how many offers Jenny makes. I also have the perception that she makes very few offers, so I suspect that she has a very high proportion of her offers accepted. Conversely, Peter and Deborah seem to make an offer on almost every competent business, but their investments per episode are 0.45 and 0.48, which is higher than Jenny's, but not by a huge margin.

It's not just "his heart", Every dragon wanted to be the investor, and in cases like these it's not unlikely that dragons are opposed to share (Peter being the oldest is the one with the most examples), so Deborah went with the best deal for a free-for-all, even if it was at a loss for her (since she COULD have matched Tej's instead of dropping lower). However, when Peter said he was willing to share 10/10 with her for half the money, she accepted because it's a better investment. Their matchup I feel was better than Tej and Touker, but even the double dragon for 20% wasn't as good as the original offer he came into the den for.

He would benefit more from selling his products to corporate industries in the UK if the customers could say that they were helping to clean up the country of origin, with the country of origin being the one their business was from. The problem is, recycling actually takes alot of energy, its expansive to remould plastic, it also not good for the environment like people make out.... You need to melt the plastic.

In the woke world (probably in the US), she’d be thrashed immediately on Twitter and would be receiving a lot of heat. Who would say eco-friendly products isn’t on their portfolio? 😄

The last analysis I saw, she was investing at a similar level to the others. It would be interesting if anyone has a more up to date one. The incessant comments about it are just people being sheep, but it's harmless so if it makes you happy why not!

Yes, on five occasions. Jenny Campbell's personal website lists the following five investments: drinks brand Didsbury Gin, loyalty scheme ParkingPerx, truck advertising firm DrivenMedia, energy switching service Look After My Bills, and hemp skincare producer Carun UK.

His original offer was already a steal with his numbers, but it makes sense as it’s clear he’s doing this more for the environmental part than for the money.

Deborah not only matched his offer but also share the same ideals of recycling. He's a good guy for not being too greedy, Peter's offer was fire.

Jenny: I absolutely love it. Great product. Sensible. Everybody wants to go this way. I can see all sorts of companies and offices wanting to use this product... ... and for those reasons, im out.

Peter is always amusing because you his thought process may be complex but his feelings are always apparent. You could see from the first second that the pitcher slipped and said 25% he was fixated on it, and when he was fascinated on the product he became even more fixated on itm

If the numbers are spot on in terms of $, that's obviously the first hurdle to scale, but with Peter Jones, craves cohesion with a person, and a damn good character. This guy is a 10/10 dreamboat for any entrepreneur. Robert is fantastic, as his product is so good and stylish. Listen to them all fighting for him. Good on ya Robert 🙏. What a lovely fist fight to watch 👊👊. Congrats Robert 🥳 He can't loose with any of the great dragons.

I knew Peter Jones would jump in at 25% since the guy said it as a slip of the tongue in his pitch. Tbh, I was surprised he didn't say "all of the money for 99% of your business".
