Dragon Trappers Lodge- Spinodon and the mobile HQ!

This model is certainly in the running for the largest undertaking I've had the pleasure of running my printer to prep. I lost count of how much resin I poured in the vat to ready this monster.
There's a few optional bits on this creature, but regardless of those it's still going to be a massive endeavor.
Are Dread Saurians even this big? Because that's certainly one use for this big guy (outside of using the RPG rules that DTL have for all their models).
With summer around the corner this is going to be my major project- hopefully we'll see it finished before year's end!

if you want to get a much better fit on multipart resin pieces the trick is to glue them together before they're cured. Usually, the curing process is what causes the slight inconsistencies in fit leading to gaps. Also you did an amazing job on this model, it looks phenomenal.

Half the fun is showing you guys what's what. For a crazy big model like this it wouldn't seem fair to not showing you what you're getting yourself into! Under normal circumstances though, yeah, curing and building is probably the ideal way to go, especially with getting those sail parts to fit snuggly. I guess once he's painted I'll have to go tackle the OPR lizard carrier...

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature yeah I assumed that's why you weren't doing it that way round, I thought I'd mention it just in case it helped though. On behalf of all of us thank you for showing us all the pieces of the model instead of just after its built, it's really helped me when choosing which models to print. I love watching your channel it's so nice to see such a variety of models. Keep up the great work 😁

Those howdah parts are just begging to be magnetized.

Yeah, it would make transportation a whole lot easier. They're pretty stable even without any glue in there. I think this is a project where that would definitely be a good idea!

There is a putty called Perfect Plastic putty that I have seen some other modelers use. It is water soluble but takes multiple applications. Might give it a try?

That's a big beast! But nowhere near the size of the Dread Saurian.

Is the Saurian even bigger than this? I've never seen one in person!

@@ObscuritiesinMiniature The Dread Saurian is bigger. Probably comparable in length but the Saurian is much thicker.
