The trickster would be more viable if the game was actually challenging. But past level 20 there just isn’t a challenge

It's just a matter of playstyle in the end, I guess. You can clear the game with any class, in any way you want (because it's very easy). The Trickster isn't that fun to play, sadly, and pawns can be dumb, but it's an interesting concept anyway. If you do wanna play with pawns and be more support, I highly recomend trying the lifetaking arrow, and barrier arrow (that has a name I forgot) from the magic archer. Way more fun and you do a lot of damage also.

I enjoyed my time with Trickster. I unlocked most of the other classes by then so I added in athletics from mystic spearhand and the magic archer augments that boost off/def for pawns. It combines well with other vocations via warfarer too.

Had fun with it myself, wonder how much of the game I can solo with it. Gonna give it a try later.

As i see it, trickster is a new spin to the classic rpg summoner class. You set the stage for your minons (pawns) to do all of the damage/fighting while you provide support.

The problem with the trickster is that it IS possible to play with it... but it's WAY less efficient than any other vocation. You could very easily kill a dragon in half the time, or even a quarter of the time (if you use a wayfarer for instance).

Yeah... you need a sorc or 2 in the party if you want to kill things fast

I mean, if you want to be efficient just go with MA and decimate everything then go replenish your health at a campsite rinse and repeat. I think the point is to have alternative play styles with all vocations. He probably could have killed the drake faster if he had drenching arrow on the archer and someone to freeze.

@@JLG35X totally. The point is trying stuff out and keeping it fun. Magic Archer and thief are great, but way too overpowered. I only play thief without the master skill, and it's still too strong, even solo. I am also only playing either solo or with the main pawn (except as trickster). Loving a playthroug as warrior with a mage pawn with the 3 element buffs to weapons and celerity

@@thegamerdadshow Currently doing Trickster playthrough with no magic users, been going pretty well even though I initially rented lower level pawns and gave mine weak un-upgraded weapons. Might not be for everyone but I'm having fun.

Warrior is pretty strong, but I’ve been playing sorcerer and the game is way too easy tbh. Especially if you’re running Meteoron, Maelstorm, spellhold and flare. Plus the subtlety augment for less aggro and rings for faster incant. I might switch to something else and level that up instead

Well it's definitely a way to play the Trickster. If you want to go dragon hunting I would recommend an archer with drenching arrow and thief with frozen daggers (Dont remember the name) Then what ever other dps class you want. You can place your ghost thingy in the sky to make it difficult for the drake to hit it.

Trickster is honestly the easiest vocation in the game. I know it sounds crazy. But with 3 skills (Visitant aura, Suffocating Shroud, Aromatic Rally) you can set up any fight in the game in a way that you and your pawns don’t get hurt, and your pawns put out more damage than you and they could together. Is it the most engaging vocation? Debatable, most would say no. Is it the vocation with the most applicable skills? Probably not either. But with those 3 skills, 2 DPS pawns and a mage you can handle all the content in the game without a sweat.

Yeah, visitant aura can be fun to play around with. But "easy" is not really an issue in this game... its easy either way you play. I am impressed how they made all vocations really fun though. Rogue master skill should at least consume 10x more stamina to be more fun. The warrior parry is WAY harder to pull off and satisfying, for example.

@@thegamerdadshowI was in shock when I fought a golem as Sorcerer. Only takes 2-3 meteorons and they’re out for the count. Before that I was playing warrior and it took some effort on my part
